I may go to the last shuttle launch on 09/16, however, I have to convince Mrs Kevindavis to fly on the plane in order to get there.
Lord, please don't let me frack up!

Ugh, why do they have to do it so early? I'll never be up and out at that time. Think of the people who want to watch, NASA!
It's very, very windy now, and cold, in Vero Beach.

Update from Cocoa Beach—winds are expected to diminish before launch. All systems go. Brrrr! Going to be a very chilly night for shuttle gazing at KSC. Glad I brought the Snuggie!

I love NIGHTTIME launches. I saw one at 10:00PM in 2000. It lit up the whole sky and you could feel the rumble in your bones. Woo Hoo!
Since it was prior to 9/11/o1, security was very loose, and they let us stroll through an assembly building and WITNESS the preparation of the Destiny Space Lab before it was loaded onto the Shuttle for transportation to the International Space Station. I was SO Exited about The progress humankind and America had made as we stood on the Event Horizon of the 21st Century! It was one of the most exciting moments of my life, There was no limit to our dreams, so full of hope and promise...
Then those stinking lousy 7th century misogynistic islamofascists had to go and ruin EVERYTHING.
