i cannot imagine the airports are open, and there’s a powerful lot of snow on the roads between here and Canada!

I went shopping on Thursday evening. Thought I would get a few items that I could eat if the electricity went out. I swear, there were only about 4 bunches of banana’s left in the whole store. Crazy just crazy.

Sorry to hear about your car, but it could have been worse. You could have been in that car.

And don't forget to fill up your birdfeeders!

With snow this deep, the little tweeters are going to need all the help they can get!

A record 2 1/2 feet or more was predicted for Washington. As of early Saturday, 10 inches of snow was reported at the White House, while parts of Maryland and West Virginia were buried under more than 20 inches.

In a battle of the god's, Obama loses.

The game is to be televised on NBC as the game of the week. So they will do everything they can to get it played. However, I am starting to think my best hope is that it is postponed and that we will be able to go to whatever substitute date it set.

I have been looking at the traffic cams on I-95 and the roads are in bad bad shape.

We have been getting this info from the weather prophet. I have to travel right up through that white area (NM to KS)to be there Monday, so I’m going to try to get out of here tomorrow with the 4 wheel drive and plenty of supplies onboard. If the roads are clear,,6 hours, and if the roads arent clear, then 10 or more. Our problem here in the great plains is that towns are about 40 to 80 miles apart. You can set for a long time if you have trouble out in the middle.

this is serious business in Montgomery County. Forget Monday, I don’t see how they will have schools open by Tuesday. Too much snow and this area has little experience with this stuff.
My street has drifts up to my chest and I’m almost 6ft tall.

We still are getting snow and winds here in Hammonton, NJ. They actually have freezing fog as one of the elements in the storm over us right now.

I swear I have never heard of freezing fog.

I can see a main road from my apartment. It was in fairly good shape but the 2 lanes weren't very wide because of snow plowing and the sidewalks were covered with 3 feet of plowed snow. Road was lightly snow covered.

Then (around 9:00 am) along come about 3-4 so-called adults with a couple of grade school age kids and their dogs walking down almost in the middle of the road and basking in Mother Nature's winter wonderland. I thought, how stupid. A driver still had to be careful on the road and what if they hit an icy spot and skidded.

We get freezing fog all the time here in Michigan. I think its a funny term because if fog really froze, wouldn’t it be like driving through an ice cube?

We got more than a foot in northeastern Ohio. More than double what was predicted. Travel was miserable last night. Glad to be in for the weekend. Hubby is going out to work tonight though....thank G-d the neighbor had a plow for the drive.

we are well on the way to 30” here in Vienna, not far from the Metro. a plow made a preliminary pass up our street last night, nothing been seen since. it’s still coming down at least an inch an hour.

I figured it would be a term some FReeper, somewhere would be familiar with. It really is a rather odd term.

my brother lives in Warren, and said they had over a foot, which was more than predicted. he has a snowblower though, and we have just one shovel and it has a crack! my husband actually ordered one online last week because we hadn’t been able to find one locally since the december snow. of course the UPS truck can never get the thing here now!

I've already shoveled the global warming twice, and it's still coming down. If I spot a car with an Al Gore or global warming bumper sticker, I'm going to bury it.

My little town made the national news. We’re over 30” here and it’s still snowing. Taking a break from shoveling.
