Toyota owners stormed dealerships all over the country last week demanding "fixes" for "defects" described in wildly inflammatory press reports.
Toyota apologized for "defects" that to date are still being investigated. Before whatever problems might exist had been determined and before any "fix" has been found, the government ordered Toyota to begin the largest recall of vehicles in automotive history. Toyota then shut down its U.S. plants and stopped selling eight of its popular models, including Camry and Corolla.
Toyota claims these actions were "voluntary," but Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood was quoted as saying the Obama administration had ordered the recall.

If you have the means, go into a dealer and DEMAND that they sell you one of the "quarantined" vehicles! They are perfectly safe! I they refuse, then we have an opening to launch a class-action lawsuit against the Kenyan Usurper and his hardcore Marxist regime.
This is still America. Stand up for your right to buy what you choose with YOUR MONEY.
I love the way obama gets up at every speech and talks about everybody outside of his circle having nothing but negativity to offer.
Yet, HE is the one CONSTANTLY bashing one thing or another. Banks, Republicans, automakers, news stations...
This guy truly IS a ZERO.
I can tell you this: I have a friend who is a lifelong Democrat. He said to me the other day, shaking his head, “They’re really blowing this up...” Even he thought the government is full of crap.
HUSSEIN is taking it too far. He is losing his voters.
Toyota should get a union. Their prices will rise, quality will decline, they will be forgiven.Soon Government Motors will have a partner and we will suffer.
Not only that, he is on television EVERY FRIGGIN’ DAY! I am so sick of seeing him I could spit.
They will use the same tactic to shut down competition with the "Single Payer" or "option" in Health Care, to eliminate private insurance, as soon as they get their foot in the door with a watered-down version which they will quickly amend to gain their free-riders' happy support (when OTHERS pay for the free-loaders' medical benefits).
Is this a great Kountry, or what?
You’re right, no Union, no money, no blackmail! My guess is Kia will be next on their target list (they opened a factory in West Point, Georgia).
The entire beauty of cable is the ability to watch old movies or DIY shows of some kind. And Fox.
100s of channels, and you end up watching “Golden Girls” repeats because it’s a) on b) actually shows older people as witty, social & themselves and c) the writing is so much better than what’s on now as ‘new’ shows. Oh. And they’re not Shep, the guy eye, Smith.
But at least you can find anything else to do or watch than to watch this guy.
AS I SAID ON ANOTHER THREAD, oBAMA IS A UNION MAN. TOYOTA IS A NON UNION SHOP. THE BULLY WHITEHOUSE IS PUTTING THE SCREWS ON TOYOTA FOR IT’S OWN REASONS, PAYBACK FOR UNION VOTES? THIS MOVE IS JEAPARDIZING MANY AMERICAN JOBS IN THE SOUTHERN STATES.
UNTIL WE GET THE GOVERNMENT OUT OF THE PRIVATE SECTOR, YOU CAN EXPECT MORE OF THIS KIND OF CRAPOLA FOR PAYOLA.
What??
You are right. WHEN we get control of the Comgress next year, priority #1 has to be putting a stake through the heart of the union movement once and for all. We need to get it started now so that the next president (and I am rooting for Palin) will be able to act FAST against any Marxist backlash.
Blah. Don’t like them or h***a either... libcars
No, because the factory employs non-union Americans.
I never even owned a Toyota but Obama can go to hell over his mass hysteria on this one. It is obviously a lame attempt to put a label on a non-UAW company.
Heh... I got all three brands, so count my three as conservative.
