PAUL SCHIFFER
Congressional Candidate for Ohios 16th District
ENDORSES & WILL JOIN a
Tea Party Caucus in Congress
CANTON, OHIO (February 5, 2010) Paul Schiffer, Congressional Candidate in Ohio, endorses the creation of a TEA PARTY CAUCUS in Congress, and will join the Tea Party Caucus when elected to Congress. One proposal emerging from the national Tea Party Convention in Nashville, Tennessee is the creation of a TEA PARTY CAUCUS in the U.S. Congress.
A caucus is a voluntary group of like-minded Members of Congress who sign on to support a common set of goals. The Congressional TEA PARTY CAUCUS will adopt the goals of the tea party movement and agree to fight for those goals. Despite some lively debates about the event, the idea is a good one.

That’s the way to do it. Its not a 3rd party but it is a means of setting themselves apart in a smart way.
This is the way to go with it.
Maybe Mr. Brown would like to start one in the Senate?
Who’s the Dem, or is it an open seat?
People are worried about the “direction” of the Tea Party Movement, who the “real” leaders are, what the “organization” should look like, etc. However, what if there is no “leader, organization, or planned direction?” We tend to think it would then fail. But history tells us otherwise. The Boston Tea Party was the turning point for resistance in 1773. It was a moment in history that changed the world ... and it was quite UNORGANIZED, the LEADERSHIP was difficult to ascertain and there was no PLANNING, as the events dictated the plan. And the result was TOTALLY EFFECTIVE!
Something special is happening with the Tea Party Movement of today. Of course people will try to gain control of it because it is a very powerful source of energy. But the concern that it is “not controlled” and therefore “doomed” is unfounded. It needs not be nor should it be confined ... to a leader, to an organization or to a specific plan. Such activity would nullify the greatness of what it has become to date and could grow to in the future. One needn’t worry ... one only need to join the energy, shun people who attempt its control and allow plans to be spur of the moment. With a leader, there is a target, with an organization, a counter-organization, with a plan, a thwarting of the plan. But as pure ENERGY ... nothing can stop it. Think of it is energy ... join it, and be a part of this historical change-making effort.
Read again about the first (Boston) Tea Party of 1773 HERE ... and you may better understand what is happening now. Some things are best not confined by definition. Sometimes pure Freedom, unleashed, undirected and uncontrolled is the greatest source of energy ... a source of energy no person or organization or plan can stop.
Ohio’s 16th Congressional District (South of Cleveland, around Canton) is a Republican-leaning district, which narrowly went Democrat in 2008 during the Obama tide. The seat was held by Ralph Regula and has been Republican for around 50 years. So one-term Democrat Boccieri is almost certain to be defeated this year to whomever wins the Republican primary.
I don’t think that the tea party movement needs to have official leaders or probably ever will have them.
The idea for a tea party caucus in Congress should be to show the public who is willing to stand with the tea party movement, NOT to pose as its leaders.
The other caucuses in Congress do not act or pose as leaders, BUT REALLY FOLLOWERS of the groups outside that are advancing certain agendas.
Thanks for the info....if you post, or come across any info on the race..kindly ping me..thanks
