Just say 'New Jersey' to a group of New Yorkers, even ones who just moved there, and they spontaneously break out into great peals of laughter. Is there another city where its inhabitants hold their neighbors in such contempt? I hear cracks about L.A. suburbs on sitcoms that I guess are west coast surrogates for the Garden State. Still not funny.
