I asked Palin spokesperson Meghan Stapleton for comment on Rush’s rant, and she emailed me this:
“Governor Palin believes crude and demeaning name calling at the expense of others is disrespectful.”
It hardly has the passion of her response to Rahm, and there’s no call for him to step down. But given Rush’s stature among conservatives, it’s pretty interesting that she went this far, denouncing his on-air rant as “crude and demeaning name-calling.”
His “on-air rant” was just an extended goof at Emanuel’s expense for describing lefty activists as “retarded,” but having chosen to pick this fight, I guess Sarahcuda can’t make exceptions for humor. This is the second prominent conservative her team has had to chastise in two days: An advisor to Rick Perry, whom she’s supporting, was upbraided in similar terms yesterday for using the word “retarded” on a conference call (it’s now become a minor issue in the Texas Republican primary).

if you served 10 years as Governor, you pretty much accomplished what you wanted and should have the courtesy to step down.

I understand that words are not the enemy.
It’s the attitude she objects to, and I can appreciate her feelings, but it’s not like he was refering to a bunch of hadicapped people...er, wait, I meant ‘special people’...no, that’s not acceptable anymore, either. Differently abled? I give up.
If I’m not allowed to use words then I can’t convey my thoughts. If you can’t express your thoughts you might as well not have any.
The word police are blind! Er...seeing impaired. Occularly antithetical?
We do not need to make Sarah’s choices for her. She is a big girl and has done very well her way.

It means "SOME ONE WHO WINS" now. Whatever it used to mean is history.
Now, for "tard" ~ and "retard" and "retarded".
Sure there are some roots in common in those words but it's like the old "niggardly", "Nygard" and "N-word" trichotomy. You only lose control of those words by misusing them!
Still, the issue was the pejorative expression uttered by that old merchant of smarm, Rahm Emanuel. "Tard", "retard" and "retarded" were not in play, weren't at issue, and if any bunch of pukes or their running dog lackeys think they can take them away from me, I'll only get worse. I used to be a BIG SUPPORTER of Sarah Palin! She seemed to be a person who would stand and/or fall for her heart felt conservative principles, but supporting a leftist wannabe who has aided the enemies of our Constitutional Republic,JUST BECAUSE he`s a friend, IS NOT A CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLE! It doesn’t matter what is said, or even if it was actually ever said. All that matters is who said it or is accused of it. Liberals are forgiven for their “poor choice of words.” Normal people are hounded until they grovel and beg forgiveness, even if they never said it.
