I asked Palin spokesperson Meghan Stapleton for comment on Rush’s rant, and she emailed me this:
“Governor Palin believes crude and demeaning name calling at the expense of others is disrespectful.”
It hardly has the passion of her response to Rahm, and there’s no call for him to step down. But given Rush’s stature among conservatives, it’s pretty interesting that she went this far, denouncing his on-air rant as “crude and demeaning name-calling.”
His “on-air rant” was just an extended goof at Emanuel’s expense for describing lefty activists as “retarded,” but having chosen to pick this fight, I guess Sarahcuda can’t make exceptions for humor. This is the second prominent conservative her team has had to chastise in two days: An advisor to Rick Perry, whom she’s supporting, was upbraided in similar terms yesterday for using the word “retarded” on a conference call (it’s now become a minor issue in the Texas Republican primary).

I don’t have anything personal against Rick Perry. He is 10 times better then that idiot Kay Bailey Hutchinson. AllahPundit is a Romney jocker so yes, he does hate her. He wants to put a rift between Rush and Sarah but its not gonna happen, good try though, I give him credit for making the effort but its an EPIC FAIL

He quoted Rahm about a million times and then said specifically that the press would quote him saying the word instead of quoting. He’s done it about a million times before and he is always right.

Sarah Palin is not the be all and end all when it comes to what I can say and when I can say it. If I want to call somethng retarded I will. I think the sight of conservatives falling all over themselves trying to proove how PC they can be is pretty retarded.

Frankly, Rahm should commit seppuku while he still has a friend somewhere to chop off his head to end his pain.
I know he's more conservative than KBH. But the Tea Party movement is about getting rid of incumbents too.
I just think if you served 10 years as Governor, you pretty much accomplished what you wanted and should have the courtesy to step down.
