I’m a white guy. I love fried chicken ... it is, quite honestly, one of my favorite things on this planet. Add some buffalo sauce, and I’m in heaven.
I understand being upset at offensive stereotypes ... but I have never understood being offended at the stereotype of liking fried chicken. Everybody likes fried chicken ... because its freaking awesome.
Is it offensive just because it is a stereotype? I don’t get it.

You have communicated my thoughts perfectly.
"Supposedly", it is offensive because it harken back to the days of both sharecropping (no time for lunch)and when blacks could not eat in restaurants. They packed fried chicken because it keeps well and still tastes good cold. I don't know. Rastus is supposed to be offensive too and I have never known blacks who longed for cream of wheat.

In New Orleans tourists seek out our soul food restaurants for just that same menu and our black people are proud to serve it up. But, it is amusing when liberals tries to get righteous on us ;)

Back in the 50’s just about everybody kept a few chickens for eggs and good eating. What I could never understand about Cuba, those people couldn’t even keep chickens. And we always said anybody could grow chickens. Let em scratch out a living and the yard eggs were better than ‘’cage eggs’, INMHO
I’ve never understood the fried chicken thing either. Everybody likes it. Same with watermelon. Who doesn’t like watermelon?
The big question: How did fried chicken become black?
