On January 19, 2010, the world witnessed a miracle in Massachusetts. A US senate seat held by Democrats for over half a century was won by a relatively unknown Republican candidate by the name of Scott Brown.
Freedom-loving Americans from across our nation rose-up to support Brown, defeating Democrat Martha Coakley who had been ahead in the polls by 25 points just two weeks prior to the election.
Even President Obama could not save Coakley from defeat when he flew to Massachusetts to campaign for her just prior to the election.
Brown provides the critical 41st vote in the Senate to break the Democrat's filibuster-proof majority and stop the unprecedented assault on our personal liberties that is now taking place in Congress. Brown has committed to voting against ObamaCare, one of the chief reasons given for why he won this election.
The political elite have repeatedly underestimated the determination of the American people to defend their liberty from a tyrannical government. Perhaps they are now finally getting the message.
And IIRC, the senate had a rule that when Captain Kirk was appointed his term as senator would end when the election was over.
Great news on Scott. Let's hope he holds up to what he campaigned on.
Loved the tweaking of the media concerning Rahm's R word gaffe. It was obvious to me he was baiting them to pretend it was Rush's conservative insensitivity that needed to be reported on.
They took it hook, line, and sinker. He's having a great time laughing at them today.
That’s an amazing number of views and I love that sweet little girl and her sign!!!
That’s what I thought too, syncro, but their senator lost and I don’t recall that they changed the rules. In fact, I recall Kirk saying something like, “I’m packing up.”

Exactly right, Baynative. It’s evil. Nateman made that exact point on this thread, complete with the appropriate graphics of two evildoers.
Lunch hour! Ya mean you actually work? *wink*
Rush is having a grand time today!!!
Kirk should have been done at 12:00AM January 20th, as that’s what the Mass. election law states.
I hope someone challenges the debt-ceiling lifting, for which he gave a critical “vote” on January 28th, in the Supreme Court. Someone needs to be prosecuted and put in jail.
Furthermore, where was the supposed “watchdog of the Senate”, Robert Byrd (D-KKK) on this?
*THUD*
You have to see what STARWISE posted!!!!
(With the truck, no less).
I first saw this video as viewer #324 . It was at 1/2 million by election day. I'm looking forward to knocking out McCain with Hayworth now!
"I can do better. We can go down there and hold the line. We can go back to the drawing board on health care. As the forty-first Senator I can tell them to do better, and try again and get something like we have here in Massachusetts." ~ Candidate Scott Brown
"We're past campaign mode...I think it's important for everyone to get some form of health care. So, I think to offer a basic plan for everyone is important. It's just a question of whether we're going to raise taxes, or we're going to cut half a trillion from Medicare, we're going to effect veteran's care...I think we can do it better...and to just be the forty-first Senator and bring it back to the drawing board. There are some very good things in the national plan that's being proposed." ~ Senator-elect Scott Brown, January 20, 2010
~snip~
WASHINGTON, D.C- Senator-elect Scott Brown has named a former Deputy Secretary of State under Colin Powell as his chief of staff.
Steven P. Schrage will oversee the Senate offices in Washington and Massachusetts, according to a statement from Browns campaign.
Steven Schrage is a professional who knows his way around Washington," Brown said. "He brings to the table expertise and background in a number of valuable areas public policy, economic strategy, national security, business, counter terrorism, strategic planning and management. His knowledge and experience will be extremely useful in helping to advance the work of my office as we build the best team."
PS .. FNC says they're awaiting House debate on raising the debt ceiling another 2 trillion dollars ! Scott, get into the Senate and hit the ground running before the final vote!
It's enough to renew my perpetual pissed-offed-ness.
Woork!
