This is a process whereby a pressurized fluid (composed almost completely of water and sand, with a miniscule potion of commonplace chemicals that speeds the flow of the gas) is used to crack the rock and release the gas.

The Democrats can go frack themselves!

Great post and thanks for taking the time to fully post the article which could have been linked. But too many FR’s want stuff spoon fed instead clicking to the link provided.

Right now there’s a drive in Wisconsin led by our Pseudo Liberal governor, Lawyer Doyle. ( d) Doyle has a Energy progam (claiming it will create jobs and save the world from Global Warming) which does not use that nat gas field that lies beneath a good quarter of the state, but on solar and wind. Where 24% of electrical energy would be mandated be generated from those intermittant sources . Its being handled like the Obamacare bill rushed through the Wisconsin House AB 649 and Senate SB 450 and if you pardon the link its sumarized here;

Thank you. I have to wonder though, since fracking has been around since the 1940’s if it is not economics that is keeping the shale in the ground. The boondoggle of the government corruption in environmental funds is worth attention since it is getting bigger, and bigger . . . Austrian economic theory says that the boondoggle misallocation of funds extends the recession/depression. Derecession maybe . . .

CO2 Cap and Tax or any type of CO2 regulation must not pass
It's time to put the pressure on the “Elected Elite”.

Windmills in MN are idled by cold. Just when people need energy.

Expansion of nat gas pipelines in the Northeast has been held up for years. Check the history of litigation of the Millenium Pipeline. Because people are ignorant of where the drilling and fracking happens - - over a mile down - - they are sure it will hurt their water wells - - which are usually less than a few hundred feet deep. There have been some problems with a Cabot well in Dimmock Township, PA, but Cabot has promised to make the situation right.

Expansion of EXISTING PA Power and Light electrical transmission lines are protested as are lines that would bring power from upstate NY into the city.

There is no way anyone will get special new transmission lines for “green energy” built.

Where is the RNC with a platfrom plant of 3D mapping of the entire country?

Yes truly find out where all the coal, oil and gas is and in what amounts.

Tangenital to that is the reason they do not want to drill here IMHO.

Many will become wealthy that never were before. That is against their Watermellon agenda by using energy/pollution as a tool to move us to their socialist dreams.

Even the most ardent Dem's can start thinking like a fiscal conservative when their are lots of zero's envolved and they have to start paying attornies to keep uncle sam from getting his greedy hands on it. When these folks have "Gas" on their property, they are not going to buy this "Crap" anymore.....

We as a nation should seriously take a different approach to cleaner burning fuels for our vehicles such as using natural gas, while its problematic for long distances and certain geographical areas natural gas can be used by millions.

Easier to convert than hydrogen and user friendly, homes can have their own filling station.

And this is ongoing NOW, its almost as if its being squelched by big oil and certain political parties.

Take any good idea in recent history (thirty years or so)and you can be sure that democrats opposed it. Whether it be energy solutions, national security, defense, domestic policy, it’s a good bet that if you opposed the democrats as a knee-jerk reaction, you would be correct 100% of the time.

For example,

Generating a megawatt-hour of electricity using natural gas costs $80; with wind it would cost $142, and solar would cost $396.

Estimates of the amount of natural gas wasted to generate electricity for heating vs the use of gas furnances for residentual and commerical heating range as high as 70%.

This makes natural gas even more attractive for business and home heating vs "green power".
