Obama Suggests Republicans Could Have A Role In Health-Care Bill
By Shailagh Murray and Paul Kane February 4, 2010
President Obama urged congressional Democrats on Wednesday "to finish the job on health care," but amid tentative signs of bipartisan outreach on Capitol Hill, he suggested that Republicans could be enlisted to play at least some role in negotiating a final bill.
For two weeks, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) have struggled for a way to salvage health legislation that had appeared on the verge of final passage until a Massachusetts special election deprived Democrats of their filibuster-proof Senate majority.
Reid and Pelosi have yet to agree on a plan, and many Democrats are irritated that the protracted haggling over health care is overshadowing progress on other legislation, including an $81 billion job-creation bill that Senate leaders plan to unveil Thursday. The dispute has created tension between Democrats in the House and in the Senate and has revealed increasing frustration within the party toward Obama, who pushed Congress to produce a series of monumental bills last year but has yet to sign a single one into law.
In the coming days, Reid and Pelosi are expected to confer with the president to determine whether Democrats can pass the existing health-care bill or will be forced to start anew.
Speaking to Senate Democrats at their retreat Wednesday morning, Obama brushed aside calls from party moderates to shelve health-care reform at least until after the November midterm elections.
"We've got to finish the job, even though it's hard," Obama told the senators. But Democrats also took note when Obama described a process for completing the bill that would take place "in an open way, in a transparent way, in a spirit that says to....

Yep, Obama your secret has been out for a while now.
So they can be massacred at the polls too? I realize the Republicans are too often STuck on STupid but after holding this long I’m not sure why they’d change course. Even though we know for some of them the “fix” to have the NYT’s call you bi-partisan is a strong lure. I’m not sure it’s as strong a lure as finding you can even win in MASS on the issue.
When they announce the implementation of amnesty, it will signify the official middle finger gesture toward American non-union workers and whatever American jobs remain in our nation. Making residents of the heartland of America welfare recipients seems to be the goal.
I just read an article in Medical Econmics about a FP who went cash only. He see 16 patients a day (2 an hour) charges 45 dollars for an office vist and lab tests are 25.00 which is much less than we charge (but collect 60% over all due to Medicare, Medicaid and insurance price controls) and he makes twice what I do seeing 40 patients a day and doing hospital call and rounds. He only does office work. I am truly tempted to try his approach.
Dumbass just doesn’t seem to be able to “get it.” The GOP doesn’t want “a role” in Commiecare. The Republicans may be dumb but they’re not stupid.
As always... dead on!

Hey Democrats, how does it feel to be the Kenyan’s Bit**?
