Smut TV: Hollywood Doubles Down On Their Crusade to Sexualize Your Children

Posted By Charlie Richards On February 3, 2010

A USA Today story informs us “Viewers are about to see full-frontal male nudity, heterosexual, homosexual and group sex, and graphic scenes rarely — if ever — seen on mainstream TV.”

A few years back, I got a real taste for how silly Hollywood’s obsession with force feeding America a steady diet of filth had become. I sat across from a Fox Family exec, pitching programs for kids. I’d been in this chair many times and the result was always the same: “Thanks. Love ‘em. Won’t work. Let’s have you back soon.”

Why’d the guy keep calling me back in? And why did I keep returning? I’m not sure which of us was most guilty of wasting time.

Finally, one day, I blurted out what should have been asked long before: “What do you want from me?”

“Something like Action” I was told.

Action was a Fox sitcom created by Chris Thompson originally intended for HBO. In it, Jay Mohr played a troubled character patterned after producer Joel Silver. Thompson insisted they leave the foul language in the program, and just bleep it out for prime time.

So you can imagine my shock at the idea of this being the model as I pitched shows for kids. I leaned in and told the Fox exec something he most surely had to know already.

“No parent would let their kid watch a show like that.”

“I don’t care if they watch it” he said without missing a beat. “I just want them to know about it.”

Hide the women and children.

I’ve only had a TV maybe 2 years out of my whole adult life. I just turned 60. Raised my kids without TV.

We spent probably the first 10 years of our marriage without a TV. Then got one that we hooked up to a VCR.

We’d turn it to the television option for things like 9/11 and the Olympics.

It still sits there mostly collecting dust, but is useful on rare occasions.

“Well I don’t even care to know about it.”

This is part of the problem. It has been this disconnect, indifference, and to some degree, ignorant view of the media that has allowed this level of debauchery to become the norm.

“Fortunately, youth are the least captive audience.”

The issue isn’t about “captive”. The issue concerns what the youth are watching. A perusal through popular film and television programs drawing a young audience speaks volumes. This fact coupled with the assault on our children on the academic front reveals the answer to why American’s societal/political/economic landscape looks the way it does today.

My wife and I watched Lost last night. ABC was pushing one of their new shows during the commercials, which is the same as every other show coming out now: people working in an office having sex with every other person in that office.

We don’t watch any of those shows, and we don’t need another. They’re not funny, or original, nor do the reflect general American culture.

All of the drama people I knew were losers who couldn’t get attention from the opposite sex. What do they do? They go out and create their fantasies on TV and in movies so they can see the nudity they otherwise would not be able to see because they lack the social skills to be in a normal relationship.

That’s my ineloquent take.

Just curious - you raised your children without TV. As adults, do they still not have one in their own homes?

"According to my opinion, and the opinions of many defectors of my caliber, only about 15% of time, money, and manpower is spent on espionage as such. The other 85% is a slow process which we call either ideological subversion, active measures, or psychological warfare. What it basically means is: to change the perception of reality of every American that despite of the abundance of information no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interest of defending themselves, their families, their community, and their country.

It's a great brainwashing process which goes very slow and is divided into four basic stages.

The first stage being "demoralization""....

We don’t have pay channels but I see I need to start blocking basic channels. One TV does not have blocking so I will disconnect it under the house except for special occasions like you do. I have always tried to keep an eye on what the kids watch but this has gone too far.

Our family hasn’t had televised programming for years. The only time we watch any programs are during vacation trips. My family’s always disgusted by the filth that’s being aired, and we’re always thankful that we don’t waste hard earned money on such garbage.

In our home there’s a television set. We own DVD’s, and occasionally rent films.

Our basic cable is bundled with the rent. I wouldn’t pay for it either.

Are we going to see full-frontal female nudity?

I am disgusted with the kids channels & blocked them on Sassy’s TV. Now I have to rethink allowing her the TV again. Right now she is banned from anything but history or nature shows. I may just keep it like that unless I find a program I think she should see.

Have you seen the show

The Secret Life of the American Teenager?

Television has officially hit rock bottom with that one.
