So is iTouch sexist then?
Susan can be iCracked.
“Groan alert! Did anybody here think of “iKotex” when the “iPad” was revealed? “
Actually, no. Mind you I thought the name wasn’t very good. But it did fall right in line when the naming conventions that Apple has been using for some time.
But on the other hand iKotex, that is an hysterically funny name and I will use it from now on. If only to my friends.
In fact after reading this post to my wife she made the comment that “That is so typically sexist of me.” So in the vein of being “Politcally Correct”, I hereby nominate the name iCondom for any slide in bag/holder made exclusively for the iPad.
Apple should throw a bone to Estrich by introducing the new Apple IDrunk.
No, that is not what I thought.
...but it does sound like something a juvenile pre-teen would giggle about. Are there ANY adults in the liberal party?
Typical liberal: her entire world is filtered through race and gender glasses.
Not me... I suppose one must have a certain fixed mindset already to make that connection.
I didn’t even think of the iPod! You’re right about that... I actually think it’s pretty cool, and the name makes sense. I only hope the stylus/pen is easier to use than my daughter’s drawing tablet — my hand’s muscles seriously rejected using that as it was just awkward.
Some people need to get back in the kitchen.

Did anybody here think of "iKotex" when the "iPad" was revealed?Duh. First thought that crossed my mind; sounds like a feminine hygene product. More (max)ipad than tampon, though. Marketing screwed the pooch on this one (or they're BRILLIANT 'cause they have people talking about the product. Think of all the free publicity).
Never entered my mind...I thought launch pad, drawing pad, etc. I think Susan is showing she’s out of touch, because they aren’t called “pads” anymore, but “feminine products.”
If you google the word “pad” most search results have to do with P.A.D. (peripheral artery disease)...no mention of a Kotex. A few have to do with the iPad.
TamPod?
I’d be willing to bet the majority of women do not use Kotex these days. But to be fair, in my day we did call them ‘pads’.
While I don’t necessarily agree with her assessment of the leadership of Apple, I do think that the name “iPad” was a bland, lame stab at a name that they HAD to know would wind up being associated with...
...With...
...Well, you know.
I am also rather disappointed in the features (or lack there of) that this product has. It is like a kid who thinks “If people love the iPhone, they will love it more if we make it REALLY BIG!”
It was just this sort of thinking and hubris that produced the Lisa, and ultimately the decline of the company.
Is it possible that the iPad is Apple’s version of “Jumping the shark”?
No, I just figured the pointing device would be called the “iTampon”.

It’s an electronic pad of paper. Jeeeze, does everything in this moronic civilization begin and end with what Apple does and what self-anointed celebrities think????????
Hahaha, maybe so, but not for the reason she thinks. It's not due to lack of women. Women don't make tampon jokes. No woman would have intercepted this one.
It's a lack of frat boys. Apple has too many effeminate holier-than-thou turtleneck wearing boys and not enough normal laugh-at-fart-jokes guys on staff.
PADD (Personal Access Display Device) introduced on Star Trek: The Next Generation, 22 years ago now (I feel old)
So now “pad” is the new “nigger?”
Ifemininehygeineproduct.
