The real travesty in this case is the combined vote totals for the most conservative candidates for Governor will outweigh the top vote getter in the Governors race. Illinois is an example of what happens when we conservatives take our eyes off the ball.

Here's another travesty. Looking at these numbers, there's no way the GOP is going to win either the Governorship or the Senate seat in the Fall no matter who wins.

With about 2/3rds of the vote now counted......

SENATE
GOP Candidates:
    Kirk - 227,592
    Hughes - 71,668
    Other Candidates - 89,761
TOTAL GOP VOTES - 389,021

DEM Candidates:
    Giannoulias - 238,233
    Hoffman - 215,032
    Other Candidates - 169,713
TOTAL DEM VOTES - 622,978

GOVERNOR
GOP Candidates:
    McKenna - 92,791
    Dillard - 86,919
    Brady - 84,522
    Ryan - 73,907
    Andrzejewski - 66,362
    Other Candidates - 40,202
TOTAL GOP VOTES - 444,703

DEM Candidates:
    Quinn - 334,968
    Hynes - 320,371
TOTAL DEM VOTES - 655,339

Ugly.
