The situation is very similar in the US today.
An NOP poll in September 1999 found seven out of 10 Britons believed lesbians and gay men should be allowed to serve in the military.
At the same time General Sir Anthony Farrar-Hockley, a leading opponent of the change, told the BBC: "Two surveys have disclosed that the overwhelming majority of those in military service today find homosexuality abhorrent."
In the US, a Gallup poll of 1,015 US citizens in May 2009 found 69% in favour of allowing gays to serve openly in the armed forces - an increase of 6% over five years. Support among "conservatives" had jumped 12% over the same period, from 46% to 58%.
But a Military Times poll in December 2008 found a majority of active-duty respondents - 58% - were against the idea of repealing the Don't Ask Don't Tell law.

Large-scale resignations from the UK armed forces were widely expected in some quarters, when the ban on gays was lifted - but in practice they did not materialise.
At least one British army brigadier publicly resigned in protest, citing "strongly held moral and military convictions" but most observers were surprised at how smoothly the new law - which was forced on the UK government by the European Court of Human Rights - was implemented.

The military will face even more pressure to promote homosexuals and homosexuality in the ranks.
You will see pressure to allow effeminate gay behavior among military men and anyone who objects will become the "problem".
Cases of unwanted advances will become more common and more often covered up so the military will not appear biased.
You will see the military used as a device to further push the idea that homosexual behavior is normal.
We let this ban fall and we will have lost yet another battle in the war of the left to reshape the culture into a prurient deviant design.
It isn't enough that your son or daughter go to war but instead they will have to face indoctrination and have it shouted and beat and reeducated into them about how normal homosexuality is and if they don't except it they will be expelled and punished. Is that what you want?
This isn't about what a few hyper egotistical sexual deviants want. It is about what kind of world and what kind of military do you want? We are not Britian and we are not Europe nor should we aspire to be like them. We are America, the land of the free, the home of the brave or is that depraved?
A year after the policy is changed, we will see this happen on every military base:
After a torrid romance (begun at the base all-ranks club), LT Bob will marry LT Bill in the base chapel. (Or it will be PFCs Nancy and Susan.)
Then they will move into base housing, and begin adopting “their” children, or hiring wombs/sperm donors to do the trick.
If Bob and Bill want to slow dance and make out in the clubs, that is their business.
Anybody who has a problem with any of the above will just have to grit their teeth and say nothing. Otherwise, they will be given 1.0 (failing) marks on the EEOC portion of their fitness reports. Or they will even be charged with “hate crimes.”
Any military chaplain who refuses to “marry” them will be drummed out of the military as a “homophobic hate monger.”
A vast number of our best troops won’t stay in the new gay-orama military, and our combat readiness will collapse.
This is the future folks, if we don’t stop this.

Gays are not banned from the military. That’s pure deception.
What they are prohibited from doing is flaunting their sexuality. The Pentagon’s policy guidelines on homosexuals in the Military state:
“Sexual orientation will not be a bar to service unless manifested by homosexual conduct. The military will discharge members who engage in homosexual conduct, which is defined as a homosexual act, a statement that the member is homosexual or bisexual, or a marriage or attempted marriage to someone of the same gender.”
It’s open homosexuality that the military prohibits. Ike Skelton, the leading House Democrat on military policy, opposes repealing the policy. So does John McCain, who responded to the president’s decision by defending DADT. He said, “This successful policy has been in effect for over 15 years, and it is well understood and predominantly supported by our military at all levels.”

One of the main problems w/ reports of this nature is that they are usually fact free. The people in the military that do know what’s happening can’t talk and the criticism from others will be squelched by the PC police.

Imagine being on a two month cruise in a nuclear submarine where close quarters and lack of privacy are the norm. In Obama’s PC madness not only would homosexuals be allowed to serve on submarines but also women presumably including including lesbians. The tensions that would arise from this mix could easily get out of hand.
You’d better believe it. People who have “good intentions” don’t often have the vision to see what their intentions will produce. There is no reason to believe the activists will not continue their efforts to push the limits to further abridge the rights of anyone who doesn’t agree with them. Why in the world we allow such a small minority to have such sway is beyond me. They are largely the product of sexual abuse and sexual prurience. I’m sure if someone bothered to investigate you’d find increased level of abuse and a conspiracy of silence among heterosexuals who simply look the other way like priests did in the Catholic church. Are you going to send your young lean 18 year old off to war knowing he could be impressed by officers who could opening abuse him without recourse? We have a choice. What kind of world do we want? One that caters to the sexual deviants and their every whine and complaint or one that reaffirms normalcy and decency? I served until recently and still know guys who are still in.
there is not one of them who I know and have served with over the years who want this kind of mental sickness to be avanced in the military and yet those who never serve seem to think they know best.
What these people do not understand is that there is no privacy in the military and so when we have two homosexuals acting out in the shower or on a room are we all supposed to just ignore this/

If this ever is allowed then the first thing the new president should do is overturn this stating how it does not work.

I know first hand from serving that homosexuals being open will have a massive decline in the military. We have to share the same showers, get in the same sleeping bag for training in cold weather etc, we live in close quarters and now we have to share this closeness with open homosexuals meaning if I say anything like no way am I getting in that sleeping then I could be brought up on charges especially if the officer is a homo
