The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on Tuesday used Twitter to restate his position that gays and lesbians should be allowed to serve openly in the military.
At a congressional hearing, Adm. Mike Mullen said he believes repealing the 1993 law is the "right thing to do." Minutes later, Mullen tweeted, saying that he stands by what he said:
"Stand by what I said: Allowing homosexuals to serve openly is the right thing to do. Comes down to integrity."
Mullen's words represent the strongest statement to date by a top military official in support of the repeal.
Hearings on "Don't ask, don't tell" comes almost a week after President Barack Obama called for a prompt reversal of the policy during his State of the Union address.
Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday said he expects the military to lift the policy by year's end.
Who the hell wants to be on a submarine or in a foxhole with a guy who has tits and wears nail polish? Why not just let everyone with some kind of deranged fetish serve openly in the military?
Why don’t we keep sexuality private....kind of like “don’t ask, don’t tell”?
One of two things will happen.
Either straight men will stay out of the military, or a lot of fags are going to get a can of Whoopass opened on them.
Is Adm Mullen trying to tell us something about his ‘alternative’ lifestyle? BARF!
Isn’t that cute. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs has time to tweet about gaaaaay issues. I’m touched.
Dear Admiral Mullen:
You, sir, are an imbecile and an embarrassment.
You are a racist.
Beat it.
