Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the nation will deliver a harsh blow to the "global arrogance" on this year's anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
"The Islamic Revolution opened a window to liberty for the human race, which was trapped in the dead ends of materialism," Ahmadinejad said during a cabinet meeting on Sunday.
"If the Islamic Revolution had not occurred, liberalism and Marxism would have crushed all human dignity in their power-seeking and money-grubbing claws. Nothing would have remained of human and spiritual principles," he added.
Ahmadinejad said that in the three decades of its history, the Islamic Revolution had inspired some great developments in the world.
The Iranian president made the remarks as the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution approaches.
Iranians are expected to pour into the streets on February 11 to celebrate the occasion in public rallies across the country, as they have done annually over the past three decades.
It does lead to some very tough “what ifs”, considering that they can’t exactly test anything:
For example, suppose they fire something off - and it doesn’t work?
Or, suppose that they fire something, and it gets shot down before it does anything?
Are those events going to count, in the diplomatic parlance, for “serious and harsh” response?
It should be remembered that there are a lot of freedom-loving people living in oppression involved. I mean, those in Iran.
You’re right, Posting #44 is alarming.
BTTT
The US has probably sent a message to the Iranian regime that dire consequences may occur if they continue down the path of a nuclear weapon. Deadline after deadline has passed without any response from the Iranians. Tougher sanctions and the military option are all that is left.

Just notice the planes flying over again very early this AM They stopped at dawn as usual....Heard them before the Gulf War, invasion of Iraq and each time there is someone going to be bombed they’re heard a week or two in advance.

I understand your statements of Bo..but this is so far past just him now...there would be zero ships in the gulf if he didn’t ok it.
This is not just Iran and Israel at stake here..enlarge your understanding a little more. Nuclear in Syria a year and half ago blew up on the scienctists there, nobody knew Syria had been even a nuclear site...very little news reported that Israel went in and blew it up thereafter.Syria had the ground cleaned up in two days so tried to hide the whole affair.
I think Russia wants us bloodied badly but won’t get directly involved. When everything is said and done, Putin probably wants Iran bombed so his buddies can get rebuilding $$$ and oil field development contracts after the war. Just like they have in Iraq.
Bush 41 has “experience & affiliations & the rapport” with the leaders of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait plus his experience in the Gulf War. There are plenty of other American leaders who have such qualifications when dealing with Israel.
My heart aches for them all. My heart aches Israel has no ally in the region. My heart aches for you are correct, there are way to many what if’s. Israel would go with honour, Live Free or Die is very real for them. What about our troops? How many would we lose? Is ahmadinejad crazy enough to really care if Iran goes poof? No!
Let’s hope Iran’s first nuke detonation is just a test and not a nuclear tipped missile aimed at Israel. Obama better get his white flag and have a UN phone directory ready.
as is # 67
“Israel is not going to use Bush 41 or 43 to deliver a message to Obama.’
It’s not out of the realm of possibilities.
cool ..did it..now i know..many thanx
And Hillary has had the pissed off look alot lately. where is she now?
TY for that heads-up Mama
to add to your brothers concern - you should take a little time going through the Israeli/Lebanese/Syrian press the last few weeks. What has gone virtually un-noticed by most of the world is that some very serious military preparations are underway in that region.
Israel is conducting large war games and a substantial portion of the IDF is currently deployed opposite the Lebanese border and the Golan. Syria has reportedly called up reserves. Jane’s Intelligence reivew last week reported on a serious uptick in Hezbollah’s war preparations in the past 30 days . . . I’ve got a feeling all this is related.
BUMP!
