Illinois Senate Candidate Kirk says No to Drilling
http://kirk.house.gov ^ | 16 March 2005 | Mark Kirk

Posted on 01/31/2010 4:23:09 PM PST by Maelstorm

The Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) is a prized jewel of our national ecosystem. Congress should work to preserve this environmental sanctuary. I remain strongly opposed to drilling for oil in the ANWR. The House budget does not provide funding for Alaskan oil drilling. As we move toward budget reconciliation, I will work with my colleagues to keep the Alaskan wilderness pristine and untouched.

I'm working to see this Liberal in Republican clothes defeated.

He's horrible on 2nd Amendment rights, voted for Cap and Tax, and is against energy self-sufficiency. Defeat him in the primary and toss his ass back into Navy whites.

This is utter stupidity. The Euro-trash liberals in SoHo cause more environmental degradation on one weekend than drilling in ANWR would cause in a year, or more. Stupid liberal trash.

How many persons named Kirk are running for office in Illinois?

As for the “house budget does not include money for drilling......”.

I always under the impression that PRIVATE COMPANIES were the entities who paid for exploration and paid for drilling for oil-gas-gold-coal, etc.

“(ANWR) is a prized jewel “

What nonsense. It’s a Godforsaken tundra.

Kirk is a jerk.

Has this twerp ever been to Alaska? Ever seen ANWR? Does he know the North Slope Pipeline has actually been popular with the caribou to the extent that it attracts them for the shelter and the mini-ecosystem which it offers?

It goes like this:

  1. The caribou meet.
  2. The caribou mate.
  3. The caribou poop.
  4. The poop brings more plant life.
  5. More plant life brings more animal life.

It is what happens when you have the only thing close to shelter on a treeless tundra.

Wow. No one who’s looked into this issue for even 15 minutes can rationally believe that the proposed drilling would endanger the environment. I’ve had leftist acquaintances essentially admit to me that the drilling would be fine, and that the point of banning oil — everywhere possible — is to advance leftism.

Dangit, why can't we get this Kirk to run:

He'd not only drill for oil, he'd bag a couple of hot alien babes in the process!

Making domestic oil production a top priority might be the only way to keep America from the economic abyss. It would create the good paying jobs this country needs and it would cut our dependence on foreign oil. We would be drilling our own oil if the American people ran the government instead of the corrupt politicians who are owned by special interests.

No RNC money for this rino. Drilling is a total no brainer. More tax revenue more economic development, more jobs and less reliance on mideast oil only a socialist watermelon could be against this now. Hasn’t he got the memo on the man-made global warming fraud?
