Scientists have detected a consistent pattern in the sun's magnetic behavior that precedes solar flares. If the pattern can be unraveled completely, it could give hours or even days of warning...

Not sure if "hours" or even a couple "days" worth of warning would help, if every transformer in the country was about to get fried. Especially with the current Commander in Chief - he would probably do nothing, thinking he could blame any results on the 'Bogeyman' (i.e., President Bush). Good luck, after the power's down, for months or years.

Seems reasonable to see rapidly twisting movements - These magnetic fields, according to plasma theories and their feedback inside the changing electrically-charged particles moving inside the magnetic storms, should feedback their changes in electric fields and currents, which affects the magnetic fields, which affects the electrical currents ....

Too bad we’re ending NASA’s space exploration so Hansen can get more money to study his novel (er, navel) intelligence into globull warming.

Is this why my internet is not working well? My dad does ham radio and he says the solar flares make a huge difference on his radio.
