SALT LAKE CITY The next Republican presidential nominee could be named in Utah.
After four months of study, the GOP has selected Salt Lake City as one of four finalists for the 2012 Republican National Convention, an event that could bring 30,000 people to the state for several days.
The other finalists will be announced early next week, and the winner will be selected in late summer after GOP officials visit each city.
If Salt Lake City gets the bid, the 2012 event would be the first GOP convention held in the Intermountain West. Denver hosted the Democratic National Convention in 2008.

You can't be president in this country if you don't have that inexplicable something that draws people to you. Mitt has all the moves, phony smile and personality of a crooked used-car salesman, besides having flip-flopped on every issue.

Used car salesman is exactly what I think of with Mitt, just a little better than Simon in ‘True Lies’.

Too bad he’s awful at everything else that truly matters. A man who rides two horses is double a pain in the ass.

I think the reason he comes across like a used car salesman is because he's hired people to teach him how to be "personable". The result is someone that nobody trusts.
What scares me is that I used to think that the presidency couldn't be bought, but Obama taught us that it can. That's the thing that really scares me.

We don’t have money management problems. Those are the symptoms, the signs. Like a rash. We have a delusional, sick political class, and, a lot of fellow citizens.
We are the Democracy the founders warned us about.

An unauthorized copy of the dime-store fake LEO badges Team Romney "won"
and used (they were caught by real law enforcement officers in two states)
for "saving" the Olympics and receiving fake endorsements.

Just a heads up....
You could have avoided the nasty exchange by answering the question.
Which you didn't....

I would not mind SLC being the site of the GOP convention. The city has excellent convention facilities, people are friendly, and the state has been the reddest of the red state. Perhaps they should be be rewarded for that.Let's see, your well thought out, intelligent, and factual post vs. 'The Conspiracy'.
What to believe, what to believe?

I don’t know what you were insinuating, but I served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and many in my family also served, and I don’t hold it against anyone who does not serve. The argument is not even a valid one anyway since our military could not support or employ every eligible person in the U.S. that was capable of serving. I do agree that it does not look good if someone is running for office, but I think the most important question should be, “what have you done for others while not serving yourself?” All in all, Rommney does not have a chance in hell of being president.

The GOP with this announcement has just declared they have sold out to socialist RINO Romney. Bingo.
With the money that Romney and his closest allies have spread around in the Republican Party, you could practically buy Salt Lake City.
