They have poked a stick in their own spoke. Now where are they going to go with this?

Obama and his crazies (Holder specifically) want show trials, clear and simple. They hate America, so let’s give others the chance to spew it in open court. Everyone who Barry wants to have tried in our court has already admitted their guilt. If you have admitted your guilt, the only thing left is sentencing. Why didn’t Bush take care of this before he left office? Very screwy.

Sounds like the outcome is predetermined by the White House.

From what I gather, Bloomberg only learned of the decision to try KSM in NYC from the news. The phone call from Holder came a few hours later. The administration really did not bother to do any groundwork all.

It seems Bloomie’s mind was made up when NYPD Chief Ray Kelly presented his report on exactly what this trial would cost NYC in money, risk and inconvenience.

It’s all over. Now, no other community is going to submit to having this deadly farce enacted on it’s turf. Obama can’t impose this by force. His bubble is punctured, now nobody is afraid of his displeasure. This morning’s Sunday shows are predictably full of the usual moanings about “civility” and “bipartisanship”. Boehner and McConell seem to have grown a pair over the past year... We shall see.

“Likely to face execution?” Not if leftists like Gibbs are on the jury!

"Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is going to meet justice and he's going to meet his maker. He will be brought to justice and he's likely to be executed for the heinous crimes he committed."

These and other comments by the incompetents in this administration have KSM convicted and sentence handed down. I think the admistration lackeys are instinctively correct in this statments however, most Americans would then ask Why go through the folly of a trial? The answer is because the administration have other goals in mind other than a conviction, which include possibly convicting Bush administration officials for their conduct during the WOT.

Also - couldnt these statements be considered prejudicial and, be argued that these terrorists cant get a fair trial in any jurisdiction in the US?

So if it’s “likely” that KSM will be executed, then what are we trying him for? Like the old western — we’re goiving him a fair trial before we hang him?

Now they’re talking about moving the trials to Western PA (Pittsburgh most likely) or Washington DC. Never mind the obvious danger to us all where these civilian trials are going to be held — just who is going to pay for the extra security? It already looks like the Obama administration is not going to authorize any expenditure or very little expenditure on security. But even if there will be federal monies, who is paying for this? Yup...we the taxpayers. A trial before a military tribunal would be a helluva lot cheaper and involve a lot less expense to already strapped states and local government entities.

This administration is not only incompetent; it is mentally ill.

“Now where are they going to go with this?”

I predict he’ll have a quick illness and die soon in prison, or he’ll commit “suicide”. Living, he is a continuing embarrassment to the administration.

Capydick says: "Also - couldn't these statements be considered prejudicial and, be argued that these terrorists cant get a fair trial in any jurisdiction in the US?"

The President speaks of our "values," but never of the "principles" underlying our judicial system. In this case, the AG would give a wartime enemy combatant the same constitutional rights as American citizens, including the right to what the Founders called "trial by a jury of his peers."

If "innocent until proven guilty," as a fundamental principle, has any validity, then how is it that the person responsible for "executing" the laws can speak, with certainty, of the guilt of the defendant and the outcome of such a trial without destroying the very basis of the constitutional justice system?

To undermine the immediate safety of citizens by bringing such a trial to the courts is one thing. To undermine the very judicial system itself is quite another.

Where will they go with this?

Well, in the over-used jargon of the chattering class:

They will first “walk it back”, and then “pivot”.

Hate this crap-speech!

Only a leftie would think there’s propaganda value in having a show trial with a predetermined outcome! What sense does this make?

Perfect illustration of the O Admin “upholding American values” — they are going to be prosecutor, judge, jury and executioner in a Kangaroo Court.

Makes ya proud!

1) Obama and his crew want to try KSM in civilian court.

2) Obama is making it impossible to secure a conviction in civilian court by so publicly prejudging the case.

It has to be assumed Obama and company want KSM to walk.

Someone please explain to me. As I understand, the jury will decide the sentence if he is convicted. What if the jury decided life in prison?

How can you have a supposedly fair trial if the verdict is predeterminined? The Obama admin does and says so many illogical things it’s hard to keep track of them.

These statements by Gibbs and Obama himself about executing KSM are asinine. If KSM is tried in a US court these statements could well be used by his defense to show he cannot get a fair trial when even the President has publicly said he was guilty and that jurors would be tainted if they had heard this.

....wonder what libs are going to do when KSM is found innocent and walks out of court a free man.

Pronouncing him “guilty” now defeats the purpose of a “fair” trial by an “impartial” jury.

The funny part is when KSM is found innocent, he’ll be able to sue CNN and the President of the US for that matter for slander/libel.
