WASHINGTON The Obama administration is proposing a $200 million fund to help pay for security costs in cities hosting the trials of accused terrorists such as Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
The money will be included in a budget plan for 2011 of roughly $3.7 trillion that President Barack Obama will submit to Congress on Monday, a congressional aide said today. The aide spoke on condition of anonymity because the spending blueprint hasn't been announced.
The administration said late last year the trials would take place in federal court in lower Manhattan, near where the World Trade Center once stood. But there's growing opposition from the city, and it now seems likely that the White House will decide to hold the trial elsewhere.

ping.
What insanity.
Leave them at Gitmo, have military tribunal.. maybe 15 or 20 minutes...have the firing squad on standby... total incremental cost... zip
More than they would do for us if the situation were reversed.
Save the money and put a bullet in the brain.
200 million?
Wouldn’t that be better spent in Haiti?
In fact, why not use it to build some court houses, housing, jails and hotels in Haiti to have the trials?
You might want to remove that comment.
Cut his head off & hang it from the Empire State Bldg.
Not a smart comment.
More money tossed in the toilet.
More attorney stimulus money?
In reality we have an incompetent President hellbent to ram his "new foundation" up our collectives.
I was sleep posting I’m sorry

FORGET IT!
I don't mind ANY of my tax dollars being used to support our military, or to support the tribunal that SHOULD BE HELD THERE REGARDING THIS POS.
How DARE our congressmen go for this and start a FUND WITH OUT MONEY for this HORRIFIC IDEA. We should be calling their offices in DC and telling them that they are the STEWARDS of the money each American works hard for...that to use it in such a manner is absolutely wrong. Geeez. Our congress has really messed up with our money....how I wish there were a way to fire all of them.
It was not a CRIME scene....it was an ACT OF WAR SCENE.....and even a child knows the difference.
