Illinois Survey of 527 Likely Republican Primary Voters Conducted January 25, 2010 By Rasmussen Reports
What are your thoughts about McKenna? Whom do you favor?
Looks like a free for all with a potential for an upset. Is there going to be a runoff or has that been done away with ?
There wasn’t a runoff last time, in that disaster of a primary that caused a blowup on FR.
Even Dillard would be better than Mckenna, who is compromised in so many ways it isn’t funny (Pollgate, among others). Having said that, I know Adam personally. We’ve met on the campaign trail (I am a candidate in a different race). I think he would be the best of the Republicans, in terms of mental skill, ethical behavior, and conservative values. Dan Proft and Randy White are also very good people. My personal favorite is the Constitution Party candidate, Randy Stufflebeam. If Adam doesn’t win, its game on, because the Republican Machine will be shoving yet another serious RINO down the collective throats of Illinoisans, and I just won’t go there. Yes, I’m including Brady in that sweeping assessment. By contrast, Stufflebeam is a strict constitutionalist, a solid conservative, and a former marine who understands leadership. Until people like him can get some visibility on the political radar of Illinois, we are doomed to wave afetr wave of crypto-socialists and mobsters, regardless of party label.
BTW, we here in the Illinois Constitution Party want a conservative to win, whether under our banner or some other. We will not split the vote in races where that would harm a potentially successful conservative.
I favor Andrzejewski.
In Jan.-Mar. 2006, I walked seven precincts for Brady. Sept.-Nov. ‘06, I walked three precincts for Stufflebeam. This month, I voted for Andrzejewski, White, Lowery, and Friedman.
I prefer Adam Andrzejewski, but I will vote against Dillard.
There is still plenty of time left, and I will assess the final polls. If it looks like Dillard might win, I will vote for McKenna or whomever proves to be the best-polling alternative. If it looks safe, i will vote my conscience and pick Adam.
Right now I feel safe to vote Adam; we’ll see what happens as Primary Day gets closer. A Dillard win would be bad, and I’m not much higher on Brady, either.
Still, anyone but Dillard is acceptable.
Ah, yes. I just rechecked that. I forgot that Judy Topinka got 38% (I thought she got a majority outright) to Oberweis’s 32% with 3 others (Brady, Gidwitz & Martin). That runoff would’ve been a sad embarrassment. A Combiner Queen and the Slick Willard of Illinois.
To tell the truth, I haven’t been paying as close attention to the current batch because no real star has “stood out” to me. I’m bracing for the likelihood that we may have more scumbag RINO Combiners leading the ticket, and if that’s the case, better to let the rodents own it, because the culture of corruption will never change with them in charge.
Plenty of time left ? The primary is in 4 days.
Thank you, and good luck in your race.
Yup, and four days is plenty of time for several more polls.
Keep watching RealClearPolitics.com and checking the Trib, Sun Times, and Herald web sites.
Right now I’d vote Adam. Monday, depending on if I deem Dillard too big of a threat to win, that might change.
Hopefully 2/2/10 will be much better than 3/21/06, with no RINO win and no FR meltdown.
Unfortunately, the liberal Combiner scum Kirk’s nomination in the Senate race looks solid. I will not endorse him in the general under any circumstances (instead, I’ll probably endorse Eric Wallace, a Republican running as an Independent).
I made no endorsements in ‘06 in the IL Governor’s GOP primary because I had reservations about all of them (I was probably least opposed to Bill Brady). I endorsed Stufflebeam in the general. I may end up endorsing him again depending upon the outcome.
Oberweis was my 06 pick. I won’t do that again. Stufflebeam will get a 2nd emdorsement from me if another RINO wins.
We shouldn’t be sure that Kirk will win his primary. A few days ago, I read (in the IL page of freerepublic) that, according to a recent survey, 59% of Illinois Republicans are undecided about the U.S. Senate primary. I hope that all of them will vote for Judge Lowery. If that happens, he’ll win. If not, the conservative vote will split, helping Kirk win.
You’ll see my endorsement under OurCampaigns for the ‘06 race, I’m the only one who put an endorsement under Stufflebeam.

I’m “Blue Republican” there (what else ?). ;-)
Phil, the problem we have here is that the field is simply too divided. Kirk is the sole first tier candidate in a field of second tier and desultory opponents. Given that he doesn’t even have to win a majority, he could be in the 30s and still pull it off.
It reminds me of the Katherine Harris FL Senate primary in ‘06. We badly needed to defeat her as a too tainted to win the general election, but she was up against a similar set of second tier figures, and there was just no way to beat her there (but she did score an underwhelming 49%, so more than half the primary voters recognized she was a poor choice, but the second-place finisher clocked in at 30%).
We needed Peter Roskam to oppose Kirk, and he refused. The “fix” was in from the start, and anti-Combiner Reformist Conservatives were screwed.
I’m the exeuctive director of the Illinois Center Right Coalition. In Jan. 2006, we endorsed Brady. In Sept. ‘06, we endorsed Stufflebeam. Please read our site, www.illinoiscenterright.com.
I agree that the field is very divided. That’s why all conservatives should cooperate and vote for Lowery.
