Snip

"If we get hit with a $50 million cut it doesn't take a lot of math to figure out that the fat lady sings," Med board chairman Gene Holcomb said to the hospital's board Thursday morning.

Med officials last year faced similar TennCare cuts that would have produced the same door-closing effects. However, the TennCare budget was saved with a $1.1 billion infusion from the federal stimulus package.

Tenncare is much like romneycare and obamacare, if it can't work at the state level it can't work at the federal level.

The Med services Memphis, Mississippi and Arkansas, who are VERY slow to reimburse The Med for their Medicaid patients. And of course the illegals treat it as a doctors office and pay not DIME one for their care, where as a working American even ones without ins. has to set up a payment schedule.

The new Demonrat mantra! Woof, woof, let granny eat dog food...spoof on 'let them eat cake'.

obama's war on seniors See the links in post 43-46 and on the last page.

Expanding support for families balancing work with caring for elderly relatives with a $102.5 million Caregiver Initiative adding $52.5 million in funding to Department of Health and Human Services caregiver support programs that provide temporary respite care, counseling, training, and referrals to critical services. The administration says the extra funding will allow nearly 200,000 additional caregivers to be served and 3 million more hours of respite care to be provided. It also adds $50 million to programs that provide transportation help, adult day care, and in-home services, such as aides to help seniors bathe and cook, help which eases the burden for family members and helps seniors stay in their homes.

Something that is never mentioned when TennCare is discussed: When it first started, under ned ray, they allowed people whose employer didn't offer health insurance to sign up and pay premiums that equaled private insurance. When the budget crunch hit it the first people cut were those paying their own way, which caused further budget problems. Does ANYONE think that if obamie gets his way on “reform” and the figures go souththe first people to lose wont be the middle class?

It will be senior citizens...If you heard RUSH yesterday, seniors who are the most informed and have the most knowledge are the first to go. Then the handicapped, and those to young to work.

Maybe's Beck's review of history will wake up a few of the 'young' who have not been taught about dictators and holocaust.

This old gal is just old enough to remember her history and civics (which they no longer teach), plus I watch a lot of History channel.

New dem mantra: woof, woof, let granny eat dog food.

My money is the middle class, then the seniors. If would be hard for aarp to keep conning seniors if they were the first. Of course, I am old enough and have been married long enough to know I shouldn't disagree with a lady, so I may be wrong

The public defeat of a big plan can be enacted in incremental, more bite-size pieces. News reports suggest that such a plan is now under discussion in Washington, D.C.
That’s how Hillary did it. Once HillaryCare was defeated, the public gave a sigh of relief, and the Clintons passed much of the bill in the years that followed.
To secure Republicans votes, they often added a little sweetener, like the hog-tied Medical Savings Account pilot project in the 1996 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Thus, Hillary’s efforts led to:
Moving the middle class into Medicaid through S-CHIP, the State Childrens’ Health Insurance Program (Balanced Budget Act of 1997) - this was KidCare or Option #2 on the Clinton’s work plan to impose national health care.
Eliminating individual consent rights over private medical data and giving government broad access to medical records (HIPAA 1996) - private data empowers government control.
Creating a national health information and surveillance system by requiring national ID numbers and national electronic data standards (HIPAA, 1996)
Monitoring patients and doctors through a government reporting system (Healthcare Research and Quality Act, 1999)
Mandating physician use of electronic medical records for patient care and government reporting by 2015 (Economic Stimulus 2009) - the non-compliant doctors and clinics face financial penalties.

Intense vigilance is critical as we move into February. Incremental changes are harder to see and more difficult to convince Members of Congress to oppose. They will likely be wrapped in other initiatives favorable to Members.

Used to live in Memphis (which will soon be destroyed in the next earthquake). Look at the recipients of TennCare ... most of it goes to ..... (ding!) .... Memphis! I wonder why that is and why someone in Bristol would want to “redistribute” their health care dollars from Bristol to Memphis? Hmmm.

History tells us it is those to young to work, those who are handicapped and must be cared for, and the old that are the first targets. I'm talking about kids under 5 by the to young. Have to have some skulls full of mush to brain wash...hitler style, who will eventually grow up to be brain washed workers. And they need some kids old enough to 'report' parents unacceptable non-government approved behavior.

Middle class needs to be enslaved, the elite will fall in line with the governments thinking or else be targeted for destruction.

Memphis has the most population I think. The Med serves not only Memphis and the TN counties surrounding it but Mississippi and Arkansas...who are very tardy in paying for their Medicaid patients. Then we have the illegal problem of all 3 states using The Med as a doctors office for FREE. An ER trip that is non-trauma could be an all day affair.
