No offense. but yes almost a century. There have been campaign finance laws against companies and corporations donating that go back to the Woodrow Wilson(1) era. Glenn Beck's mentioned it on his TV show
CFR on the other hand just added more unconstitutional limits, like the black out period prior to an election. CFR was really the McCain-Feingold Incumbent Protection Act.

You are correct, a century. Although, from what I've read elsewhere, the SCOTUS didn't throw out the old laws but simply addressed the McCain/fiengold one. So if what I've read is correct, Obama is again lying on this issue.
But weren’t the overturned parts more part of McCain-Feingold?
