Obama stepped in it, because his claim about what the SC did was false. It shows a willfull ignorance, or stupidity.

The SC did not rule on the section of the campaign laws which prohibit foreign contributions, or foreign company contributions. So Obama’s claim that the SC legalized them was wrong (not true), and for a supposed “constitutional professor” to not understand the basic points of a critical SC ruling is stupid.

Someone vetting the speech should have fixed that for him. But this entire administration doesn’t seem to care at all about the truth.

His handlers and his speechwriter don't care about the truth.

Obama doesn't know what the truth is.

of course the Obamanation never really understood much or taught much law, constitutional or otherwise

his specialty was/is the race/gender/class demagoguery of the left

even if he may try to pretend otherwise at times, he is a demagogue in the Chavez mold

It was a full measure of BOTH.

Could be Obama is trying to insert it into the record that the SCOTUS says foreign campaign contributions are legal so if the FEC would ever investigate the source of his funding he can say it’s legal.

No chance of that happening though. The FEC has openly said they don’t investigate the winner.

Some watchdog there, huh?

The death of all our watchdogs really, really needs to be grasped by the general public. And the attempt to tranquilize the few that remain (e.g. Gerald Walpin and the other 5? 6? IG’s) needs to be exposed. Along with some other corruption too. http://butterdezillion.wordpress.com/2010/01/11/red-flags-in-hawaii-2/
