Grassroots conservatives are jumping for joy at the prospect of a challenge to Senator McCain in the 2010 Arizona Republican primary. Leading this charge is controversial talk-show host and former Congressman, JD Hayworth.
Although Hayworth is on the correct side of most economic and security issues facing America in 2010, the roots of his ideological views are disturbing, even to the most conservative and libertarian activist.
Hayworth is one of Americas most vocal supporters of the Americanization doctrine. This doctrine goes beyond the policies of English only and immigrant assimilation into the American culture. The re-birth of this movement in the early 20th century was deeply-rooted in an anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant and anti-black/brown philosophy.
Throughout Hayworths career, he has cited Henry Ford (the father of 20th century Americanization doctrine) as the model for American government and industry to follow. On the surface, Fords Americanization policy appeared to fall within the mainstream of American society, which included such programs as English language training for immigrants hired to work on his assembly lines. In his 2006 book, Whatever It Takes: Illegal Immigration, Border Security, and the War on Terror,, Hayworth wrote;
the ever-so-successful process that used to be called Americanization was a major movement in the early 1900s Henry Ford, a leader in this movement,
These men of many nations must be taught American ways, the English language, and the right way to live. Talk like that today and our liberal elites will brand you a cultural imperialist, or worse. But if you ask me, Ford had a better idea.
What the former Congressman failed to mention was that Fords idea was based on xenophobic and anti-Jewish beliefs. Aside from being one of Americas great industrial innovators, Henry Ford was also a media baron. One of his publications, the Dearborn Independent, promoted Fords belief in the Jewish world conspiracy. Hayworth also failed to mention that Ford was one of the German Nazi parties earliest foreign supporters. In Hitler, Ford saw an individual who was willing to adopt many of the same Americanization policies towards Jewish bankers, non-whites and immigrants in Germany and the axis occupied countries.
As a reward for his support and a recognition of their shared beliefs, Adolph Hitler awarded Henry Ford the Grand Cross of the German Eagle in 1938, a Nazi decoration for distinguished foreigners. Other winners included; Benito Mussolini, Heinrich Himmler, Jozef Tiso and Charles Lindbergh.
I am not suggesting JD Hayworth is promoting Nazism in Arizona and America, (as I am sure the liberal media will have plenty to say about this if Hayworth were to win the nomination), but for the former Congressman not have not found a better example than Fords Americanization doctrine, when suggesting solutions for Americas cultural and security issues, should be troubling for all republicans.
I know for many of my fellow conservative and libertarian republicans it can be frustrating when the liberal media is quick to brand us as racist when we push for policies that promote enhanced security at our southern border and legislation that recognizes English as the official language of the Unites States, but to offer them a candidate who has the ability to brand each one of us as anti-Semitic and xenophobic, is not a risk I am willing to take in a year that may allow the GOP to regain control of the House and Senate.
Go away, JD Hayworth.
LOL!
B U M P
I’m supporting JD Hayworth in this race (or whoever has the best chance of retiring McCain). Perhaps you meant to reply to someone else.
Guy hasn’t even announced he is running yet.
“We will formally announce at a later time, but we’re moving forward to challenge John McCain.”

All these guys have “formal announcements” at some point. He just quit his job as a popular talk radio host. Ya think he’s not running?
Don’t fall for this ‘anti-semantic’ hype. It’s a lie.
Curiously, it’s usually calling him a Mexican Hater that the libs/McCain use.
Blast from the past, words from J.D. Hayworth:
When you see the Mexican flags and other flags - rather than American flags - being hoisted at these demonstrations, you essentially are getting this message: Yes, we are here illegally. No, we do not believe this to be your country. We do not believe in your laws . . . and we dont believe youre going to do anything about it. - Rep. J.D. Hayworth (AZ-R) -
However, Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) has taken the lead in the fight to stop the U.S.-Mexico totalization agreement from taking effect. (Trying to stop giving illegal aliens social security benefits) He has introduced H. Res. 20, a resolution of disapproval in the House.
REP. J.D. HAYWORTH, (R) ARIZONA: If there are so-called good people overstaying their visas, there are really bad people too. And more than just your garden variety of criminal, probably in that group, sad to say, are those folks who belong to terrorist cells who mean to do us harm.

Another poster said: The former mayor lied like a rug, and scammed the populace by pretending to run to the right of Hayworth regarding illegal immigration.
This is a good point to remember. The former mayor, Harry Mitchell did just that with lots of big democrat money, like Charlie Rangel.
Former Tempe Mayor and state Sen. Harry Mitchell is also trying to use one of Hayworths signature issues illegal immigration against him, saying that after six terms in office, Hayworth and the Republican Party have done nothing to curb the problem, which affects Arizona more than most states. ....The results were initially so close that Hayworth would not concede for a week while early ballots were counted.

The biggest reason JD lost in Arizona was that he voted against HR 4437 (Immigration, ID, etc). His opponent used that vote to imply he wasnt strong on border issues. JD issued a statement the day of the vote saying he was not voting for it because it didnt go far enough and fix enough. And he was right.
Hayworth Efforts Stymied
In the spirit of his own bill, H.R. 3938, the Enforcement First Immigration Reform Act, Rep. J.D. Hayworth sought to strengthen H.R. 4437 on the House floor by offering a series of seven amendments. All of these amendments, taken together, were designed to demonstrate there is no need for an amnesty/guestworker plan. As a package these amendments would first give enforcement a chance to weed out scofflaw employers, limit the work incentives driving illegal immigration, and set the stage for U.S. workers to become more attractive as employees than illegal workers. These amendments required:
* IRS enforcement of laws fining employers filing false data on illegal employees.
* Information sharing between IRS and DHS.
* A ban on bank acceptance of matricula consular cards.
* Increase the number of DHS employees investigating illegal employment.
* Transfer family based visas to employment-based visas.
* Eliminate the visa lottery program and transfer those visas to employment-based visas.
* Express the sense of congress that no guestworker program should be enacted until enforcement of immigration law is accomplished.
Unfortunately only one of these amendments was made in order for debate during floor consideration of H.R. 4437. That was the amendment-the one least preferred by Rep. Hayworth-to demonstrate an alternative to a guestworker program by reducing family based visas and increasing employment-based visas by an equal amount. Ultimately, Rep. Hayworth withdrew this amendment, fearing its defeat would give encouragement to amnesty/guestworker supporters.

anti-semantic or anti-semitic? ;o)
It was more of a general reply to the posting, not to you personally. Sorry for any misunderstandings.
There is always flack that distracts from the main issues. McCain is not really a man I would vote for ... yet ... preferred before a progressive. We do not want to lose any seat in the Senate held by a conservative. Being from Texas, my knowledge of other potential candidates is mostly sketchy.
