While at the NY FedRB, Geithner *lied* about France’s position on AIG haircuts. The French were willing to discount the derivative payments that AIG owed to SocieteGeneral and BankofFrance, et al. (that’s called “taking a haircut” in banker lingo).

But Geithner lied, telling everyone at the Fed, Treasury, regulators, Congressmen, et al that France insisted on full payment.

So Shanghai-founded AIG got $182 Billion Dollars from the U.S. Taxpayer.

Geithner lied!

And just about everyone in Geithner’s gang of thievery was a Goldman Sachs alum, dontcha know, per today’s grilling.

LOL. Are you watching this? If not you're missing some some of the best "must see TV" to come around in a looooong time.

Paulson and Geithner are getting tag-team body-slammed by democrats, republicans, liberals, conservatives, black, white etc. The anger coming from the committee is palpable and real, not contrived political poserism. I can't remember seeing anything like this.

I'm now beginning to believe that at some point, there is a good chance that one or both of these guys will wind up in jail or at least very serious legal trouble.
