Developing ... James O'Keefe, of ACORN sting video fame, and three other suspects have been arrested by the FBI for interfering with LA Senator Landrieu's phone system on federal property.
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
“Landrieu’s Republican counterpart, Sen. David Vitter, called for a racketeering investigation against New Orleans-founded ACORN last year in the wake of O’Keefe’s videos. “
“”I’ve seen the news reports and it’s obvious this is a very serious matter. We’re blessed with an extremely competent U.S. attorney’s office in New Orleans, and I know they’ll handle this as aggressively as they have other serious cases,” Vitter said in a statement.”

> but it has nothing to do with the case at hand which has > to do with private citizens allegedly attempting to > wiretap telephone owned by the federal government. "Private citizen" or "citizen journalist" ... If a few people hadn't been so courageous in defying the laws of the land that protected a corrupt government, you'd be saying, “God save the Queen” instead of standing up for the rights of the $300 million Cajun queen ... like you are now asserting YOUR First Amendment rights: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2438227/posts?page=21#21 |
Even David Vitter is throwing this guy under the bus.
Have not read through this entire thread, but if he took video via his cell phone he probably sent it to third party or parties. Evidence preserved somewhere.
I would not be surprised if they set him up - and set up others involved as well.
(..been watching Burn Notice marathon... suspicious as hell - LOL).
Neither a real journalist or a citizen journalist has the right to tap a person’s telephone line.
Vitter is part of the system that protects good citizens and corrupt politicians alike. I’d expect him to parrot the programmed response. That’s doesn’t mean he’s right though, does it? Legal vs Ethical vs Moral ... They’re not always the same thing, although when enough citizens get fed up, they can force a “realignment” to shift the three closer together again. |
Probably wasn’t ethical or moral when the colonists dumped all that tea.
Perhaps not, but I do not think that attempting to tap a Senators phone line is equivalent to throwing tea in the Boston Harbor.
Mr O'Keefe has no peers in New Orleans.
“Mr O’Keefe has no peers in New Orleans.”
Now that he has been accused of a crime is Orleans Parish, he has plenty of peers in Central City, the Lower 9th Ward and all over New Orleans.
> Neither a real journalist or a citizen journalist > has the right to tap a persons telephone line. Nor does a royal subject have the right to overthrown a dominion of the Royal Crown, but Silence Dogood, GW and others did what he had to do ... as OKeefe and company were so compelled, IF they are actually guilty of the deeds so charged. Embrace that team OKeefe too stood up against the corruption of their government. Most citizens or journalists have not the moral courage to stand up to the Federal government that refuses to enforce laws regarding corruption, collusion, bribery and conspiracy by government officials. |
Unless that tea was a $300 million bribe using your and my
tax dollars — then the similarities regarding the People’s
taxes are a little more parallel.
A simple phone tap — if that’s what happened — is a far better
outcome than destruction of property and an armed revolt.
The only thing O’Keefe has succeeded in doing is insuring that Mary’s brother becomes mayor and helping Mary get reelected.
And getting his own butt tossed in prison.
In 10 months, voters won’t link this incident with the corruption of the $300 million Cajun queen — unless they already have enough dirt to expose Mary.
Judging by her polls, she should announce her retirement anyway so her brother does have a chance to be mayor.
Mary is not up for re-election until 2014.
That bill isn’t passing so she gets nothing for her state except heartburn.
If there was an election the next day, they may have been trying to establish interfering with an election as a federal crime. Or know that they will be protected because if they are indicted, then ACORN are federal criminals and election fraud is no longer the province of the states alone. If so, checkmate.
heck Obama is in a federal building under false pretenses.
There are many younger federal employees who are “apolitical” as you term it but who actively believe leftist propaganda fed to them, through the various forms of the media, in social and cultural rather than political streams. Especially the propaganda which portrays conservatives as dangerous “right wing nuts.”
These duped federal employees have unwittingly sided with leftists in a larger political context.
Excellent comments! I’m putting together an article on this for my blog - may I include your remarks? In words of Hamlet, “Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.”
