OBAMA: Here's what I said, was that our number one priority was stopping the economic contraction and putting people back to work. Now, we have stopped the economic contraction. The economy is growing again, and we did create or save several million of jobs. That's not my opinion. That's the opinion of conservative economists as well as liberal economists, was that the Recovery Act, which is a combination of tax cuts, infrastructure improvements, helping states stabilize their budgets -- all those things helped to lessen the fall.
But we've still lost 7 million jobs. So, I understand why the American people, their attitude is not "It could have been worse." Their attitude is, "How do we make sure we keep on making it better?". And that's what we'll be talking about on Wednesday.

I'd really like to see what crackpot economists, liberal or otherwise, he is referring too. I doubt even Krugman would make that bold of a claim.
Why it was only a few months ago that the White House tried to sell us a 650,000 jobs created number that ended being shown to be greatly exaggerated.
I'm sure glad we have a President in office that we can trust to not try and bullshit us.
Oh, and props to Diane Sawyer for just letting that remark slide without comment.
Quoting Joe Wilson right then would have been appropriate . . . "You lie!"
“The economy is growing again, and we did create or save several million of jobs. “
Obamanomics.
Verizon has 117,000 employees.
Verizon just announced a layoff 10,000 employees.
Obama: “ We saved 107,000 jobs!”

As Krauthammer said:
There’s another possiblity, a really mediocre one term president.
My bumper sticker says “Obama Lied and the Ecomnomy Died”.
When I put it on a year ago, I got a lot of middle fingers.
Now I see more thumbs up.
The peasants are just not sufficiently grateful.
The peasants are getting restless ;-)
Attacking the Private Sector, Attacking the Share-holders of American Businesses, Attacking our Energy Producers, that is how to spur economic growth. ...only in Obamaland.
I’ve got “the problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money” - and I’ve been getting a lot of thumbs up. A black gentleman drove pass me the other day, honked his horn and “thumbs up”.....guess the majority of folks in the country are starting to wake up to this buffoon’s act!

at least the one term part.
Saul Alinsky’s little and I do mean small-minded disciple is mimicking the man to whom he sold his immortal soul in order to sit in the Oval Office.
11. “If you push a negative hard and deep enough, it will break through into its counterside.
Besides the idiotic new age gibberish, this tactic highlights the Statists heads I win, Tails I win method of governance.
This is exemplified by the phenomena that the Statists always come out on top even when it is their ideas that screw things up. To them, the answer is always more government, even when the problem IS the government, so they think they cant lose.

What economy? Snort
“What economy? Snort”
Uh....the one we USED to have ;-)
We need to go back to producing such as farming and manufacturing.
To them, the answer is always more government, even when the problem IS the government, so they think they cant lose.
So true.
Writes ADG reporter Jane Fullerton:
Berry recounted meetings with White House officials, reminiscent of some during the Clinton days, where he and others urged them not to force Blue Dogs off into that swamp of supporting bills that would be unpopular with voters back home.
Ive been doing that with this White House, and they just dont seem to give it any credibility at all, Berry said. They just kept telling us how good it was going to be. The president himself, when that was brought up in one group, said, Well, the big difference here and in 94 was youve got me. Were going to see how much difference that makes now. [snip]
