In fact, an exceedingly dangerous terrorist with just such a fake record did precisely this.

He is now systematically and maliciously destroying the US economy, our civil rights, and the national defense.

no worries. a chip with a unique personal identifier will fix that right up.

It'll be like the first coming of the Messiah, with a world census in order to get everyone registered.

Heck, who needs to do it "illegally" by filing or altering faked documents when HI, back in 1961, actually had a law that ALLOWED foreign born baby's to be eligibile to apply for a HI birth certificate.

Back in the late 70s/early 80s a guy was offering birth certificates to illegals for $25.

I believe they were from Mississippi.

Apparently he had someone in the records sept of some County and was inserting birth certificate records into the computer system as long as they were for someone under the age of 34.

That had something to do with their converting to computer records.

Unless the person was checked for a high security clearance, where they check the paper record, the fake would never be caught.

This is a very sick and sad scenario. Forget all about security under these circumstances. I will say that you CANNOT do that in Canada. I actually checked with vital statistics for B.C. anyway and ONLY the person needing his/her own birth certificate must provide ALL of the pertinent information duly notarized by all parties including doctors, hospitals and then the parents must be checked out. I tried, even before Obama was elected, because I work in the legal field, to have searched out whether there was a certificate of his birth in Vancouver, B.C. They told me, absolutely NOT. ONLY the person who was born has access to that information. Nobody else, not even a Lawyer’s office, unless of course, the Lawyers office were given a Power of Attorney by the individual to obtain that document. THIS article points out and even highlights a HUGE hole in the United States security. CO

Paper has multiple attractions vs. digital documentation.

The Chinese and Russians are probably printing up Short Form Birth Certificates in mass quantities.

At least if they went to digital *images* of the original documents, those would be much harder to fake, at least fakes that would stand up to any more than casual examination. At least they'd be images of orignal documents, showing all the information on the originals, which could be cross checked with other records, rather than printed with a template extracts of *some* of the information on the original certificate, which leave very little that can be cross checked, especially with the ridiculous interpretation of "Medical Privacy" laws to include birth records of highly public figures.

Probably this is how Barry will get himself fixed up with that birth certificate everyone is waiting for.

This is exactly why I do not believe Hawaii destroyed any record. Those papers represent power and no county clerk would ever let loose of those original paper records.

Considering my current field of work, I find this very interesting. The State of Texas is busily scanning all the birth and death records, but the certified copies provided by the state will be very clear copies of the original certificate printed on security paper. Much different from the short form shown from HI.

A couple forgotten quotes by SEn. John McCain:

Give everyone in the world an opportunity to come to America

“Those who live closest are the ones who can get here. Everyone in the world should have the opportunity through an orderly process to come to this country.”

Change rule barring immigrants from running for president?

Q: Should we change our Constitution to allow men like Mel Martinez, born in Cuba, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, born in Austria, to stand here some night as candidates for president?

McCAIN: He and I have many similar attributes, so I have to seriously consider it.
