Still, Obama said, "an economic situation that is dire" requires immediate and bold action with unprecedented tax cuts and federal programs.

I won't cut Medicare

OBAMA'S WAR ON SENIORS which includes the retired Military 65 and over, who get double whammied with obamadeathcare.

Links to various articles are in the threads. Then leave the debt to our great grands to pay. I thought SS was the third rail of politics and the GOP was going to cut and gut it so Granny had to eat dog food...WELL it's the DEMONRATS that are doing the cut and gutting of SS and Medicare/Tricare for Life the retired Militarys secondary health ins, so I guess they want Granny to eat dog food. BTW a lot of those 10,000 laid off Sam's Club workers will be old people on SS supplementing their incomes.

YES! We DO need BOLD action on the part of the Federal Government to help us get through this hard economic time! Most definitely - I totally agree on that one point!

Here is the BOLD action the government needs to take:

GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY!!!!

“”an economic situation that is dire” requires immediate and bold action”

Let’s say the government could actually do something to stimulate the economy. If it requires immediate and bold action, what has Barry been doing for the last 12 months (besides making things much worse)?

YEP, get out of the way, quit raising taxes, and stop telling GRANNY to eat dog food.

I hope all the libs have jobs so they can take in GRANNY after her SS and Medicare bite the dust.

Can someone make the like to the U tube video, I couldn't get it to work.

I hope the date of this article lessens the chances of this happening. It is over a year old but who knows with this administration. It is so hard for me to believe anything that comes out of his mouth and I find it almost impossible (no, remove the ‘almost’ and make that impossible) to watch him on TV or listen to him on radio. I won’t watch the SOTU address Wednesday night but rather I will watch the commentators after the address has been completed. I don’t get quite as annoyed!!!

As any lib would tell you....

"GASP!!! You're ripping the heart out of America! What would Mr. Rogers say??? Shame on you!!!"

I'm hoping. however, that your list is obtained and acted upon immediately by a new Republican/Tea Party administration!

Social Security and Medicare account for $1.3 trillion of the federal budget. That's equal to the entire discretionary part of the federal budget. Take every dollar the federal government spends on State, HUD, Education, Treasury, HHS, Interior, Labor, Energy, Education, Labor, Commerce, Interior, NASA, EPA, GSA, SBA - every department and agency with the exception of VA, Defense and Homeland Security - and the government spends half of what they pay for GRANNY. Sooner or later the unsustainable increases in the non-discretionary part of the budget will have to be addressed. I would rather, for the good of the country, that the conservatives did that instead of just using it as a political windfall.

Doesn't surprise me. He's gonna tell us in the SOU that he's going to give the middle class a tax credit for taking care of their grannies and grandpas...IF he wouldn't cut their SS and Medicare then the middle class wouldn't need a 'tax credit' for taking care of granny.

Obama's message to old folks is EAT DOG FOOD AND DIE already, so I can use your money to fund my crap.

Read the threads on the link in post 1, there are several articles there, NO COLAs for 2-3 years, this effects not only senior citizens, but retired Military, and retired fed employees. Scott Brown mentioned the Tricare and Medicare cuts in his debate. And why else is he going to propose a tax credit for taking care of granny for the middle class?

We do need to reform Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security, because right now both have massive unfunded liabilities; however, Dear Leader doesn't intend to reform them, he intends to raid them a la the Kirchners in Argentina, to continue funding his crypto-soviet power grab, and he wants to do so on the backs of the elderly:

Who knows, sooner or later, the Democrats will start going after the veterinarians who treat the family dog:

(After all, the eco-freaks already want to kill off family pets because of their carbon paw-prints).

I keep sending Hannity, Beck, RUSH and our local Memphis guy this stuff....nada out of them on it. If this had been GW the libs would be screaming GW wanted Granny to eat dog food and die, where as it's the demonrats that want that so they can raid SS even more.

Memphis city schools pay twice as much per square foot to build the same size school as Shelby Co...difference the city schools need to feel good about themselves so they need fancied up schools with $100G curtain walls, murals by some pervert out of Kali, etc. While the County wants functioning schools with no frills.

He said that concerns about rising deficits prompted him to turn down advice from some economists who called for spending $1 trillion or more to jump-start the economy. Obama's proposal, which includes both spending and tax cuts, is expected to cost about $775 billion over two years.

Whew, what a relief, only $775B. Glad he's not taking advice from those profligate economists.
