At Least 36 Killed in Baghdad Suicide Bombings More than 80 wounded in attacks near three popular hotels, police say

BAGHDAD - Three car bombs exploded Monday near three Baghdad hotels popular with Western journalists and businessmen, killing at least 36 people and wounding scores more, Iraqi police said.
The first explosion struck at about 3:40 p.m. in the parking lot of the Sheraton Hotel, toppling high concrete blast walls protecting the site and damaging a number of buildings along the Abu Nawas esplanade across the Tigris River from the Green Zone, two Iraqi police officials said.
Two other blasts followed minutes later, striking near the Babylon Hotel and the al-Hamra Hotel. All three are popular with Western journalists and businessmen.

I hate it to break it to some of you, but this crap will happen whether Bush, Obama, Palin, Burt Reynolds, or anyone else is sitting in the Oval Office. Why? Because no matter who’s President, the Middle East is still full of psycho hajis. Period.
I’m guessing this sort of thing would/will happen regardless of who the president is.
The Obama strategy is to announce when you are leaving and to sit there until that time comes.

In Obama's "surge" our troops have to read the enemy Miranda rights and have strict restrictions on whom they may shoot and where.
btw, I don't disagree that this bombing is not an indication that Obama is losing Iraq, nor that his current Iraq strategy varies very little from Bush's post-victory strategy.
