According to The Local, The Scorpions is calling it quits after 40 years of playing music. However, their end won't be abrupt. The band will release it's next album Sting in the Tail and embark on a two to three year tour before the final end

Sounds like they are "retiring" like Brett Favre.

I know the name of the band, and I’m sure I’d recognize their hits if I heard them, but for the life of me, I can’t name a single one.

Best rock & roll I ever heard from them. The later “hits” were good and had great rockin’ hooks but none of them compares to “We’ll Burn the Sky”, IMO :)
