It started out innocently in a conversation with a well-connected Democrat friend who is now-disillusioned Obama voter.
We were discussing the Massachusetts election, and I joked that I didnt know if the Democrats could stand another three years under Obama. He fired back that he and several of his friends didnt know if they could stand ONE more year under Obama.
I posited that the only way it could happen that fast is if you could get him out of office on something like an eligibility issue, and that I couldnt imagine any Democrat would ever become a birther!
There was a silence for a few moments and then he confided that one might surprised at what is being whispered about by disillusioned members at high levels in the party. He cut the conversation off at that point and we reverted back to small talk.
This all sounded so not credible to me, but you can never underestimate the Democrats desire to stay in power. The more I pondered his words, the more intriguing and perhaps terrifying the outcomes became.
Consider this scenario, the Democrats actually let birther investigations to go forward, publicly condemning the Republicans for pushing the issues, while quietly not impeding or even facilitating them . Two outcomes can happen. Obama is proven eligible and the Republicans are embarrassed and fall from public grace. Obama retains power and Democrats regain some public confidence.
Should Obama be removed from office, it becomes the ultimate opportunity to play the race card, because the still-conservative Supreme Court would have to conspire with the "racist" Republicans to force Obamas departure from office. Democrats could swear Obamas innocence, a repeat of the Lewinsky defense, in which Bill Clinton came out more powerful politically. The Democrats could raise the race issue with the Republicans until the end of recorded time for removing the first Black President from office.
At the precipice of their political comeback, the Republicans could fall hard! A Democrat "Rope a Dope"?
Admittedly this is a shameless self post, maybe Im reading more into this than was really there. If you disagree, flame away, pull the post, and tell me to take my meds and go to my room.
The economy is getting worse. This summer and the balance of 2010 is going to very ugly.
The market will probably go down in flames and nothing will improve with Obama and his gang in power.
The inner cities are already consumed from 50 years of liberalism.
The only way to remove Obama is through impeachment. That means the deed would be up to the Democrats. Majority of the House and two-thirds of the Senate. Not going to happen.
The Supreme Court’s role would be limited to John Roberts presiding over the Senate chamber in extra-fancy robes.
Show me where Rush dismissed it. He never did. Neither did Savage or Levin. The others are spineless especially clown O’Reilly.
Rush and Levin back off and said nothing afterward. Savage has not. The other spineless scum made fun of “birthers.”
How ‘bout you give me YOUR meds and I’ll go to MY room :)
Since these people are all connected in the public’s perception they may have been neutered by the Brown election. The same Democrats who are sweating bullets now about their chances to get reelected will certainly not go along with any stupid, radical crap from the three stooges mentioned here.
To tell the truth I think it would be worth Biden, Pelosi or Byrd to see Obama kicked to the curb. I’m not sure how many more photo ops or speeches by this clown I can take.
“Progressives” are evil incarnate. They would kill their own to gain an advantage. I put nothing whatsoever beyond the “ability” of a “progressive”.
Good point.
I think Biden is Obama's firewall. Whatever Congress thinks of Obama, they know that Biden will be an unmitigated disaster. It would be like appointing the class clown as a substitute teacher.
Back in the 70's, Spiro Agnew was in a similar position. Nixon wanted to get replace him for the '72 re-election campaign, but decided to keep him on. John Ehrlichman claimed that he asked Nixon why he kept Agnew on the ticket in the 1972 election, and Nixon replied that "No assassin in his right mind would kill me."
Congress couldn't get rid of Nixon and let Agnew take his place. The US Attorney provided them the opportunity, by charging Agnew with accepting bribes 5 years earlier while Governor of Maryland. He plead guilty to a single charge of tax evasion (not reporting the bribery income), under a deal where he resigned as Vice President.
So, I think you are right: Joe is the canary in the coal mine. When he suddenly finds himself between a rock and a hard place and is forced to resign, Obama will be next.
Speaker Boehner will become caretaker President Boehner in advance of 2012.
The phrase "what did they know and when did they know it" will apply to every now former Obama administration cabinet member.
The new Washington DC version of the Nuremburg Trials will have every cabinet member, undersecretary, and czar sitting together in the dock, each wearing his or her respective Ferderal orange jump suit
Obama will not survive this term.
FReegards!
What you suggest is a very large conspiracy involving a lot of people. How is it possible to hold together a conspiracy that large with so many people involved? Surely, by now it would have fallen apart.
The silence from the so-called conservative media is troubling. I simply can not come up with a rational explanation for it.
Personally, I will **never** trust these yappers again. When tyranny comes they will lick and spit shine the jack boots crushing our necks.
Bump for a hair raising thread!
You should have told him the better strategy would have been for he and other Dissillusioned Dems to PRIMARY their local and State Democrats reps (to actually get a few ~sane~ people in there)!~ JS

By now there is bipartisan consensus that Marxism/Socialism is not consistent with freedom and the economic viability of our nation, and consensus, with their secret legislative sessions, that the left doesn't care. If the judiciary had honored its oath to support and defend The Constitution, we wouldn't be here because I'd be surprised if any federal attorney or legislator hadn't at least read Senate Res. 511, where the issue of two citizen parents is the heart of McCain's claim (though McCain never claimed to be a natural born citizen; he let others opine that even if he wasn't he should be, and no one disagreed).
If Kerchner’s conjecture is correct, Bush may have faced the bifurcation: race-war now, or let the economy and the nation reject Obama politically later. I would rather enforce the Constitution, but I understand how such a decision could be made. The economy was in peril. They may have felt that to not quench a potential race war, one which James Carville had all but promised, at this time of financial collapse was to abrogate their responsibility to protect the nation. The cost for their having chosen this path, if they did, is that the judicial branch must be understood as political rather than as impartial interpreters of the law.
The eligibility cover-up is not unlike the decision made by the Clinton administration to deploy the FBI, CIA, and press to cover up the missile attack on flight 800 in 1995. The Clinton team knew they would be perceived as weak on terror, and the airline industry would take a major hit if they didn't cover it up. They knew they couldn't resolve the problem, even if they knew who did it, in time to save his presidency. So they blamed exploding fuel tanks, fuel tanks which had never exploded before or since, and didn't even require that Boeing modify the planes flying with the identical tanks. While I don't agree with their choice, I understand why they did it.
I wonder if a the remedy might be to elect judges, as is done in some states? Or to require that judges be appointed alternately, one from each party, recognizing that they are beholden politically? In California we have turned out a number of supreme court justices. Perhaps judges should all need periodic confirmation - every four years?
