I cannot confirm this, but...I would see a confluence of interests there, for sure; Hez gets money, strikes a blow, and Chavez is rid of some enemies/gets to cultivate a non-state client ally.

I’m not sure I would see this as ‘going after the Jews’ just yet; it sounds more ad hoc, more like targets of opportunity - supply and dictatorial demand. Still, it should be watched very, very closely.
