“Despite his disturbing background and connections, Bin Talal has many prominent Americans, both conservative and liberal, snowed”

Saudi financial jihadist prince eyes new links with News Corp.

Posted by shariahfinancewatch on 18th January 2010

The Saudi billionaire whose investment firm is one of the biggest stakeholders in Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. said he is looking to expand his alliances with the media giant.

Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, a nephew of the Saudi king and who was listed last year by Forbes as the world’s 22nd richest person, met withNews Corp.’s chief executive Rupert Murdoch on Jan. 14 in a meeting that “touched upon future potential alliances with News Corp.,” according to a statement released by his Kingdom Holding Co. late Saturday.

Bin Talal’s involvement with the parent of Fox News is worrisome for a variety of reasons.

First of all, Bin Talal’s financial influence poses a threat to fair and balanced news at Fox because Bin Talal is anything BUT fair and balanced:

And Bin Talal’s influence has already been used in the past to influence Fox News’ reporting–at least according to Bin Talal himself:

There is much to know about this man, Bin Talal.

First of all, he has financed and hosted telethons to raise money for Islamikaze bombers:

Bin Talal is a big backer of Islamist organizations in the US, including the Islamic Society of North America, an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, the largest terrorism financing trial in US history. It should also be noted that ISNA has been revealed to be a front for the Muslim Brotherhood, the original Jihadist organization:

Despite his disturbing background and connections, Bin Talal has many prominent Americans, both conservative and liberal, snowed:

Bin Talal’s influence is spreading thanks to the largesse bestowed upon him by his membership among the Saudi ruling family. He uses his money to buy influence and then he uses that influence. Here is a list of the entities that he has wrapped his tentacles around:

We should all keep a close eye on Bin Talal, a key player in the global financial jihad, and hope that Fox News turns back his continued advances…

In an interview with Niel Cavuto, he said forcefully that his commitment to Rupert was forever. He will not cut and run when Rupert dies.

It can be argued that he sees the best way to protect his global investments is to assure a strong American capitalist state insured by a free press and counter voice to the Marxists that now prevail.

A strong and well financed News Corp is that voice.

The great thing about this is if FOX News turns its colors there will be another network that will come on the scene to crush them that will be backed by conservative money.

Charitable activities

Much of the charitable activities of Al-Waleed are in the field of educational initiatives to bridge gaps between Western and Islamic communities by funding centers of American studies and research in universities in the Middle East and centers of Islamic studies in western universities

In October 2001, following the World Trade Center attacks, New York mayor Rudy Giuliani turned down a $10 million donation from Al-Waleed for disaster relief after the prince suggested the United States “must address some of the issues that led to such a criminal attack,” and “re-examine its policies in the Middle East.” Giuliani interpreted his statements as drawing “a moral equivalency between liberal democracies like the United States, like Israel, and terrorist states and those who condone terrorism.”[7]

In 2002, Al-Waleed donated 18.5 million British pounds ($27 million) to Palestinians during a TV telethon following Israeli operations in the West Bank refugee camp in Jenin in response to a suicide bombing that killed 29 Israelis. The telethon was ordered by Saudi King Fahd to help relatives of Palestinian “martyrs”, which the Saudi government defined as “Palestinians who are victimized by Israeli terror and violence,” and insisting the money wouldn’t reach the families of suicide bombers. Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal stated that half of his pledge would help rebuild Palestinian infrastructure destroyed by Israeli forces, while the rest would be donated in the form of goods, including 100 vehicles and clothing.[8][9] However, a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council said that “some money will go to the families of suicide bombers.” [10]

In 2005, the Prince contributed $17 million to victims of the 2005 Indian Ocean earthquake which resulted in a tsunami.[8]

The man is one of the most astute businessmen on the planet. He sees America in a desperate situation. He is American educated and speaks the American idiom well.

He sees a bias bigoted press that is detrimental to his business. There is only one major media counter force. That is News Corp, Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes. He made an investment to strengthen that counter force.

He is investing in America, the right America.

The anti arab knee jerk reaction is just stupid
