Kerry, bipartisan bloc discuss compromise.
BY MICHAEL KRANISH
WASHINGTON Seeking to resuscitate stalled global warming legislation in Washingtons suddenly changed political climate, a bipartisan group of senators including John Kerry of Massachusetts has been conducting private talks this week with the White House and a key business group over an array of concessions sought by Republicans.
The election of Scott Brown as Kerrys colleague has added urgency to the negotiations for a compromise, which would include the Democrats goal of limiting carbon emissions while encouraging development of nuclear power, subsidizing coal mining, and drilling for off-shore oil.
Trying to win Browns support for a deal is part of the effort. As a Massachusetts state senator, he supported a regional program to cap emissions. But during his US Senate campaign he said the regional program did not work and expressed doubts about the science of global warming. As a result, he opposed the Democrats national emissions-cutting program that was championed by Kerry last year.
A Brown spokesman said yesterday the Senates newest Republican, who has not been sworn in, would not comment on a possible compromise.
"Browns focus right now is on getting settled into his new job as a US senator. There will be plenty of time to talk about issues down the line," Eric Fehrnstrom, a Brown adviser, wrote in an e-mail.

Kerry accompanied Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, and Senator Joseph Lieberman, a Connecticut independent, to a White House meeting on Wednesday with presidential chief of staff Rahm Emanuel to discuss shaping a bipartisan bill.

..... and Graham left his “family jewels” in a fancy little box on Rahm’s desk.......
oh, wait, Graham lost those sooooo long ago
0bama is flailing about, looking to score some quick legislative victory.
Any victory.
Won’t happen.
Scott Brown has a heck of a lot more backbone than Lindsay Graham has ever had in his entire life.
Are those idiots ever going to figure out “Global Warming” is a giant SCAM, that its all total BS?
Grahm, McLame, Obama. Well here they come.
If it does, Graham is the likely person to enable it.

The house of cards is falling...the Brit press is all over this stuff...ours wont even mention it...
What scandal?
Graham’s an idiot, but through a quirk of fate, right now he’s our little pr!ck-tease enticing 0bama to waste some more time on nonsense prior to the November elections.
Running out the clock is to our advantage, after all, not his, so the more that he jumps from one issue (e.g. taxing bankers) to another (e.g. healthcare), to another (e.g. climate change), the better.
The country will be in better position to enforce sane leadership after the GOP runs the table in the November elections.
Until then, keep 0bama jumping from issue to issue, never getting any one thing done.
If they don’t know it yet, they are deaf, dumb and blind.
Or, they just don’t care, as is the case of most Dembulbs, they only want to ride any issue that promises them a way to add to Government’s power, and its reach and range. A lie will prove just as useful as the truth if it serves this single end.
(Graham meets with Rahm Emanuel)Don't you mean Grahm meats with Rahm?
That said, I don't have a problem with Republicans meeting with Rahm Emanuel & Friends, provided of course that it doesn't lead to concessions. You need to meet with the other side from time to time for PR purposes, so I'm hoping that's all that this is about.
If the Republicans want to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, this would be the best way to go about it.
And what planet are they living on anyway? Can’t they see all the scandal and fraud emerging from the CRU, the IPCC and even NASA Hadcrut? This is absolutely ridiculous.
McCain and Graham really piss me off though. Their policies are destructive to this country.
he ought to have his ass dragged into the street and be knocked silly by his constituents for even thinking of voting for this bill. It is one thing to have clean water and air we can breathe and I am certainly not one to say we must not regulate those for the good of the people....but we are talking about CO2........fugging CO2 you nimrod.
There IS global warming.......there has been for millenia.....but there is NO SUCH THING AS MAN MADE GLOBAL WARMING.
Graham has been singled out from the crowd as a weakling and the wolves that are the Obama Democrat machine are nipping at his hide and gnawing on his bones and he doesnt even feel or see it happen.
Was the Supreme Courts ruling based upon some of the same manipulated science about global warming? Can they not go back and look at that case and reverse that decision because of flawed “science” Is that not the same as freeing a convicted criminal when the DNA sample comes back and the sample from the blue dress is not his semen?
There needs to be a rally to get this little sissy out of office.
I donated to Scott Brown just to get the numbers in our favor...and I dont know much about him. I know enough about Lindsey Grahmnesty to easily write a check for $1000 just to see him go bye bye.....and I live in Michigan........I now see his office seat as a national race and I am singling him out from the crowd.
Are you nuts? This "reaching across the aisle" gets you kicked in the groin.
This is war fighting for freedom.
I’ve been harping for YEARS that most Republicans in office are stooopid or just plain lazy. Just look at the RNC Chairman.
Isn't the Ram Man out after the State of the Union Address?
Whose in, the Dasch Man?
