Kerry, bipartisan bloc discuss compromise.
BY MICHAEL KRANISH
WASHINGTON Seeking to resuscitate stalled global warming legislation in Washingtons suddenly changed political climate, a bipartisan group of senators including John Kerry of Massachusetts has been conducting private talks this week with the White House and a key business group over an array of concessions sought by Republicans.
The election of Scott Brown as Kerrys colleague has added urgency to the negotiations for a compromise, which would include the Democrats goal of limiting carbon emissions while encouraging development of nuclear power, subsidizing coal mining, and drilling for off-shore oil.
Trying to win Browns support for a deal is part of the effort. As a Massachusetts state senator, he supported a regional program to cap emissions. But during his US Senate campaign he said the regional program did not work and expressed doubts about the science of global warming. As a result, he opposed the Democrats national emissions-cutting program that was championed by Kerry last year.
A Brown spokesman said yesterday the Senates newest Republican, who has not been sworn in, would not comment on a possible compromise.
"Browns focus right now is on getting settled into his new job as a US senator. There will be plenty of time to talk about issues down the line," Eric Fehrnstrom, a Brown adviser, wrote in an e-mail.

Kerry accompanied Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, and Senator Joseph Lieberman, a Connecticut independent, to a White House meeting on Wednesday with presidential chief of staff Rahm Emanuel to discuss shaping a bipartisan bill.

I agree with you on that-pick up a hoop and make THEM jump thru it.
Graham is part of the problem. DeMint is part of the solution. How could the state that brings us the great Jim DeMint also have brought us this squishy RINO?
How many times does this duo get to audition their tin ears? Yo time is up boys!
With an election like that, the Wiki must have a new meaning for “intelligent”
Bingo! We have a Winner! You're 100% Correct. It was a trap to destroy US from the Beginning. This is the Left's attempt to shape-shift and appear to be something they are not.
I heard on the radio last night that major “climate experts” now predict a 30 year cooling cycle. I guess “Lindsay the Poofter” missed that broadcast.
Rebel Without A Clue....
Oh, oh. Do these RINO’s ever learn. I hope the AZ and SC opposition is taking note.

Its like the Dems are about to put a bullet in our heads, then we grab the gun and turn it on them, then they start yelling "We can make a deal!" [Sort of like when Saddam Hussein poked his head out of the hole and said he wanted to "negotiate" - anybody have that photo?]
Globull warming is a scam. RINOs are a scam.
We can predict what will happen.
They will implement some carbon reduction scheme on electrical generation.
Pass an energy bill such as S 774
Throw in some loan guarantees for nukes.
There are plenty of clues.
Exxon joined TransCanada on the Alaska pipeline as S 774 was in committee, has been investing in LNG boats, and more recently bought XTO
This is one of the few cases where a public hanging would be appropriate. Rats are merely craven. This guy has raised cravenness to obduracy.
They cannot get 60 votes for Crap and Tax.
“0bama is flailing about”
Right. That continues unabated since 1/21/09.
Graham should be arrested for his participation in the “global warming” hoax and scam. If we are going to throw Madoff in prison, we should throw Graham in prison too.
Graham is a “useful idiot” for the Dems. Instead of standing strong against all of these Dem socialist issues and continuing to ride the anti-Dem wave all the way to the Nov. 2010 mid-terms, Graham and McCain and some others will find a way to toss away the advantage through “bi-partisanship” (i.e. surrender). The Dems are reeling and the GOP needs to keep up the pressure. Now is not the time to blur the lines between the parties. The voters of Massachusetts showed what can happen when they are given a clear choice.
In others words, both parties want to make money for their biggest contributors, while continuing to screw the American public.
They've learned nothing from the amnesty and health care debacles, or from the tea parties and the election of Scott Brown.
Pray for devine intervention, again.
Maybe by then FReeper Katherene Jenrette will be a popular congresswoman and take him out!
