US prosecutors have released video footage of a sheriff's deputy striking a 15-year-old girl and throwing her onto a cell floor. The video is evidence in the case against Washington state Deputy Paul Schene, accused of using excessive force against the girl in November. The incident began after the girl was arrested in a car theft inquiry. Footage shows the deputy lunge at the girl after she kicks one of her shoes towards him at SeaTac City Hall. "We believe this case is beyond just police misconduct, it's criminal misconduct," King County Prosecutor Daniel Satterberg said. "This is clearly excessive force."

Say WA? Evergreen State ping There were some moderately long threads on this when the tape was first posted on the webpages of some Washington state media outlets.
I am just happy the prosecutor for once is going to do something about obvious criminal behavior on the part of the police.
Cops are scum but are cool hollywood types with sunglasses.

True, but then again, my daughter was never arrested for driving a stolen car either ;-)
Not yet at least but you would see no problem with this type treatment of her?
Had this cop done this to my daughter, he wouldn’t live to see his retirement.
Of course I see a problem with it. The whole damn world does. He was fired almost immediately. My point is don’t put yourself in a position to allow this possibility in the first place. A 15 year old girl in a stolen car, threatening a cop when she is already handcuffed?

A 15 year old hasn’t got much sense and the cop I’m sure knows that.
The LAPD Chief (Gates I think) told the press after a lot of incidents such as this that “I’m going to have the mayor require that all residents receive training on how to be arrested so that incidents such as these don’t happen.”
The press went crazy with that especially seeing how he was the chief and his career immediately went south along with a rumor of running for mayor.
A cop’s job isn’t easy but some things are more than common sense. Stay frosty out there.
