The thirty-seventh annual March for Life took place yesterday in Washington, DC, with several northern and southern New Jersey contingents participating. Unofficial estimates of the crowd size vary from 250,000 to 400,000, which would be the largest crowd that the annual event has drawn.
New Jersey conservative activist Andrew P. Schlafly, founder of Conservapedia, led a 93-member contingent of home-school students, families, and older adults that traveled to Washington on two chartered buses to participate in the rally and march. Other New Jersey contingents were on hand, including several from multiple towns in North Jersey and at least one from Trenton.
Schlafly cited an on-air estimate reported by the Eternal Word Television Network as stating that 400,000 people were in attendance. After the march, he enthusiastically predicted that next year he would lead three buses, at 47 passengers each.
OneNewsNow correspondent Charlie Butts estimated that 250,000 people attended; Lillian Kwon of The Christian Post estimated 300,000. However, direct observation easily supports the 400,000-person estimate. The crowd was at least as dense as was the crowd for the 9/12 March on Washington last year, and filled 7th Street W, Constitution Avenue, and 1st Street E to the limit of visibility.
The participants varied in age from very young children to elderly people, including several in wheelchairs. (One of Schlafly's marchers, apparently suffering from achondroplastic dwarfism, was still determined to participate, even if in a wheelchair.) Contrary to a report released before-the-fact by Newsweek, many young women were in attendance, and contributed some of the most enthusiastic voices in support of the pro-life position. As the march progressed, sympathetic onlookers lined both sides of Constitution Avenue, and even some office workers watched and waved to the marchers from the roof of an office building overlooking the Mall near the West Lawn.

As a veteran attendee of the Marches I am struck by the attendance,number and enthusiasm of the young Marchers.This bodes very well for the future of the Pro-Life Movement.
Did the President receive them kindly and express his appreciation for them being patriots, and speaking out?
This is awesome, and I’m glad to see that abortion is remaining an issue at the forefront of a lot of peoples’ minds. Because of all the fiscal stuff going on in Washington these days, it seems like that is giving cover to a certain group of people who are trying to push the social issues out of conservatism and replace them with “fiscal conservatism always and only.” Won’t stand for that.

Apparently, Barry is only concerned about government intrusion when it comes to the right to slaughter your offspring in cold blood.
He doesn't know the difference between Constitutional Rights and a SCOTUS decision?????
Where are his transcripts - we really need to see if he actually attended any of those classes Harvard law offered.
Well you have to wonder if the U.S. Constitution is even on the reading list in a Harvard Constitutional Law class.
No young people in that picture. Nope. No young females neither.

No young women? As a man, I can tell you, there were lots and lots and lots of very beautiful women of all ages there. On in particular made Elin Nordegren look like Helen Thomas.

I think we can conclude that his remarks prove that he did indeed attend Harvard Law.
Newsweek is clueless once again on that point.

Few ever consider the unspoken fact of Roe vs. Wade: it tells every man in America that the government authorizes someone else to murder his daughter or son at will.
Roe vs. Wade is the murder of babies, and also, Roe vs. Wade is the murder of fatherhood and the heart of manhood.

My daughter is on the way home from the Pro-Life March in Washington. If she was able to get some photos, I'll post a couple. The EWTN coverage was incredible! God love the young people (and all others!) who are fighting tirelessly for life. Thanks for the post, Elvina!
