I am very sorry for your wife and her family.
This tragedy has hit many American families.
Whilst Obama went on with his travels and his parties.

95% of the Haitian-Americans I know (all educated and successful medical or corporate folks) were ga-ga over Obama, emotionally invested and blinded. Half of those had buyers regret even before the quake. Now even the other half is getting shaky.

The next Haitian tragedy is only a few months away. There are 2-3 million without shelter. The rainy/hurricane season starts in June. There is no way that hurricane-worthy shelter can be built to accomodate more than a fraction of these DPs. Haiti got hit four times in 2008. Even one cat 2-5 hurricane will kill thousands more and destroy all the temporary facilities, putting everyone back to square one.
We are paying for some of the wife's family to relocate to the DR.
