Please. It is not “a brilliant strategic success and very conservative” to dumb down everyone to the lowest common denominator, which seems to have been the practical result.
Killing the DoEd would have been conservative.
Like another astute Freeper said last night, I’m seeing Teresa Heinz Kerry in that photo of Obama being angry at the teleprompter.
Putting Maher in the same light of OReilly and Beck is a crime in itself.
You are mistaken, and it did elevate the testing scores of minorities...which was one of the major goals. You mistake the lefts (union included of course) attacks to diminish and tarnish the good work of the No Child Left Behind act for a bad bill. You have taken your eye off of the enemy and joined them in ridiculing the hero. Shame on you. You really are not naive enough to think that we can just end the Department of Education do you?
“This last Thanksgiving, nobody said a word about politics.”

Shame on you, you should have said, “Well, you know, Obama actually didn’t turn out quite as bad as I thought he would be”.
AAAAAmen, Amen, Amen!!!
Define “half-breed” please.
Last Thanksgiving at my wife's family gathering no one wanted to talk about politics either, of course I didn't get the memo and asked loudly and with a huge smile: "How's that Hope-N-Change working out for you?" Four of the five people I directed my comment at had recently been laid-off and all voted for "the Won" and told me that things would be much better under Obama and a Democrat Congress! (They all got swell jobs during the Bush Administration!)
That was one of the best Thanksgiving Dinners I've ever attended!
“It sounds like good, old fashioned racism of the type that puts conservatives in a very bad light.”
It sure does.
That's because they were so good that we could take them for granted and put their work out of our minds.
But passing the ban against Partial Birth Abortion was decidedly conservative and right-wing.
Expanding Bush's Amber Alert from Texas, to go nationwide, was decidedly conservative and right-wing.
Arming pilots was decidedly conservative and right-wing.
Ending the ABM treaty with Russia, unilaterally, was decidedly conservative and right-wing.
Passing tax-cuts and mailing *rebate* checks was decidedly conservative and right-wing.
The Surge in Iraq was unpopular, yet successful, and was decidedly conservative and right-wing.
Banning federal funds from stem cell research was decidedly conservative and right-wing.
Expanding our missile defenses into Poland, expanding NATO, and defending Georgia from Russia was decidedly conservative and right-wing.
For that matter, merely pursuing, testing, installing, and then activativing our own national missile defenses was decidedly conservative and right-wing.
Bush did all of those things, even with an opposition Senate in 2001, and even with an entire opposition Congress after 2006.
That reminds me of my yearly Octoberfest camping trip last year.
All the young’uns and just about everybody else had obama fever galore.
Got into a big argument with them all.
Last Oct i couldnt wait to get back to those woods to hear what they had to say now.
Alas, Non of those guys even showed up this year.
I wonder why.
Um, not so much. At least I hope not.
Of course it's entirely satisfactory to witness the left forming a circular firing squad. But that shouldn't stop one from observing that Mahr remains an idiot. Nor that his idiocy is manifest as much (if not more so) in these criticisms of Obama as they were in his criticisms of Bush.
In sum, Mahr's stupidity rests in his incredibly myopic incapacity to recognize the fundamental contradiction between the leftist/liberal agenda he supports, and his supposed libertarianism. As though he thinks "social justice" can be achieved without massive expansion of government; and that without massive waste, corporate cronyism and other profound corruption; and that without broad erosion of liberty.
