'O'Reilly Factor' Tops NBC Primetime Programming

Fox News' 8pmET "O'Reilly Factor" was the top rated cable news show last night, but it also drew more viewers than "Community" and "Parks and Recreation" the NBC broadcast sitcoms that run during the 8pm time-slot. Bill O'Reilly's show also had more total viewers than Jay Leno.

Last night's 4.8 million viewer audience was O'Reilly's largest since the breaking news at Fort Hood last November.

Here's a chart of last evening's Fox News primetime against the primetime programming on the broadcast networks. (More cable news info on our scoreboard.)

I guess being a blowhard egomaniac pays off.

Yes but just about any program on FOX at that time would outshine anything on MSNBC.

In terms of quality, it’s like being the best surfer in Idaho. OTOH, 4.8 million viewers is impressive, whether I care for his show or not.

While certainly not Mr. O’Reilly’s biggest fan, I'm actually encouraged to see a spike in viewer-ship of a news/opinion channel such as Fox News. To me, this indicates that more people have awakened to the Obama/Progressive agenda and are searching for more information.

O’Reilly drew more audience than NBC one of the big four network sitcoms.

I can only take BOR in small doses, and I hate to miss “Parks and Rec.” The show is hilarious.

If BOR could lose some of his hyperinflated ego and feeling of self importance and occasionally keep his big mouth shut when a guest is trying to make a comment he would be easier to take. I thought obama had an ego but he comes in a distant second compared to BOR

This is where i go off the FReservation.

I like BOR, don’t care what people say. He is a blowhard and and has a huge ego, but he does good things for Americans.

Yeah he’s got some crap is his closet, but who doesn’t?

Okay, flame away.

I’m hooked on “Community” but don’t care for “Parks” - too much like the Office.

Re: BOR. On the other hand there is no doubt that he has accomplished a lot of good with his charity and philanthropy and I respect him for that.

I agree. O’Reilly sometimes becomes intoxicated with his own rhetoric and simply can’t shut his pie hole. I really like the Miller Time segment until Bill lets his mouth runaway. He needs to shut up and let Dennis have an open field.

You aren’t alone :) I watch BOR almost nightly. Then again I have been told I have a pretty big ego as well. My answer? My humility is my greatest attribute!

actually, I like him too!!!
Yeah he does have a big ego, but he’s accomplished alot in his life.I do roll my eyes at him sometimes, though.
And the “falafel” incident... that dumb girl needed to hang up on him if she did not want to listen to his dirty stories.
