All victimization of innocent people is reprehensible. This survey is speaking, rather, about "dislike" of various religions. One may suspect that the widespread "dislike" of Islam comes not from ignorance of it, but from the increasingly common phenomenon of its most devout adherents murdering members of other faiths and justifying those murders by reference to Islamic texts and teachings. But of course in this AP article it is all ascribed to "Islamophobia" that will be cured with education about Islam.

NEW YORK -- Americans are more than twice as likely to express prejudice against Muslims than they are against Christians, Jews or Buddhists, a new survey found. Nearly two-thirds of Americans say they have little or no knowledge of Islam. Still, a majority dislike the faith. The analysis, for release Thursday, is from the Gallup World Religion Survey and is part of a project on finding ways to increase understanding between Americans and Muslims....
"What really seems to impact one's perception of a group much more than knowing an individual is having a positive opinion of that group's distinguishing characteristic, which in this case is their faith," said Dalia Mogahed, senior analyst and executive director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies. "That one person being nice enough could simply be explained as that person being an exception."
Mogahed slyly links antisemitism with prejudice against Muslims, smoothly gliding over the inveterate antisemitism found among Muslims and justified by the Qur'an:
Researchers also found a link between prejudice against Jews and Muslims. Americans who acknowledged "a great deal" of bias toward Jews were much more likely to feel the same about Muslims. The survey results could not explain why the two prejudices are linked. Mogahed said bias against both groups should be tracked and studied together to understand the dynamic.
"Groups working against the two types of prejudices should perhaps form a closer alliance," she said....

I have read the Qu’ran, Hadith - and other publications by the Islamic Jurist - what they call as radical - really isn’t. They are prescribing to exactly what is being preached...
Muhammad was no other than a cult leader - who used the tribal system to gain what he wanted...after his death - the clerics wrote the Qu’ran and everything else to maintain power.
The Sunnis actually surrounded the grandsons of Muhammad (Ali & Hussein) in what is present day Karbala and murdered them and seized Islam.

I am in complete agreement with you. If for no other reason than the fact that people of the Muslim faith have made air travel such an inconvenient hassle-nightmare-undignified-time-consuming-shuffling-around-bare-footed-with-all-of-my-toiletries-in-my-checked-luggage cluster, they have earned my undying prejudice.

With all the information in today’s age, yesterday’s history & examples, along with tomorrow’s crimes against humanity, the time for islam to be revealed for what it truly is has come on the stage which the world watches.
Anyone capable of reasoning would come to the conclusion that it is a murderous death cult hell bent on destroying the world.
Any other conclusion is uncivilized and illogical.
We like things that help us or protect us ... we dislike things that jeopardize our security. So you have to ask, what has the Muslim “religion” done to HELP us or PROTECT us ... then ask what has this “religion” done to jeopardize our security? And you have to ask why we might be a little “Islamophobic?” (I don’t like Liberals for most of the same reasons).

This prejudice toward muslims is attributed to ignorance. Ignorance is why it’s no where as bad toward muslims as it should be.

I’m not “phobic” about anything. Just Scriptural.
Years ago, immediately post-9/11, I was banned from FR for calling Islam a "gutter religion".
