MoveOn.org Email: "Emergency Campaign"
My Email | 1/21/10 | MoveOn.org

Posted on 01/21/2010 12:46:47 PM PST by FrdmLvr

Dear MoveOn member,

Tuesday's election was a shock. But the aftermath was even worse: President Obama and some Democrats in Congress are now considering scaling back health care reform.1

That would be a huge mistake. We saw on Tuesday that voters don't feel like Washington is delivering on the change they voted for in 2008.2 Caving on health care reform will only make that worse.

So we're launching an emergency campaign to save real health care reform. The first step is running full-page ads in national newspapers with thousands of names of folks calling on Democrats to step up and pass strong health care reform. Will you add your name to the ad today? Just click the link below.

(deleted)

We're still writing the ad, but it'll say something like: We want the change we voted for in 2008, but Democrats aren't delivering. It's time to stand up to corporate interests and fight for us—starting with passing a strong health care reform bill, not scaling back.

It's clear voters still want real change—but are disappointed with Washington's failure to deliver. A poll of Massachusetts voters shows just that:3

82% of Obama supporters who voted for Brown support the public option, as do 86% of Obama voters who stayed home.

57% of Obama voters who stayed home on Tuesday support the Senate health care bill or think it doesn't go far enough.

And of Obama voters who cast a ballot for Brown, nearly half (49%) support the Senate bill or think it does not go far enough. Just 11% think it goes too far. Democrats could take the election's message to heart and redouble their efforts for real change. Instead, too many, including the president, are shrinking back.

But even with one less Democrat in the Senate, they've got more than enough votes to finish reform. Through a process called "budget reconciliation," they only need 51 votes to pass a bill, not 60.

As our ad will point out, this could be their chance to pass an even stronger bill, including the popular public option. With reconciliation, Democrats would no longer be beholden to conservatives like Joe Lieberman and Ben Nelson.

But with some Democrats learning exactly the wrong lesson from Tuesday, we need to speak up to save real health care reform.

Will you add your name to the ad urging Democrats to fight for real reform with a strong public option?

MoveOn.Org was started to divert attention from Clinton getting BJs in the Oval Office so who cares what they say or want.

That’s funny...the MoveOn.org Email fails to mention the fact that, of the voters in Tuesday’s election who strongly oppose Obamacare, 98% voted for Scott Brown.

I wonder why they failed to mention this...

It’s not just Move-On. I’ve been doing some reading, and there are many on the left who think that the electoral loss was because the Dems...weren’t being liberal enough!

I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried.

We saw on Tuesday that voters don't feel like Washington is delivering on the change they voted for in 2008.

The change voters were seeking in 2008 was a president who was black and not Bush. Now, we've had that. The novelty has worn off. Obama's actual policies are no more relevant than Reuben Stoddard's.

82% of Obama supporters who voted for Brown support the public option,...

That would be people who currently support Obama who also voted for Brown. All 6 of them.

Reminds me of the Billy Joel song Goodnight Saigon.

And we would all go down together
We said we’d all go down together
Yes we would all go down together

I've never seen any group so prone to make the same mistakes over and over. Brown got elected as a protest against the Health Scare Bill and against exactly the policies the Democrats have been pursuing.

So they think that more of the same is the remedy for the backlash! I think they've finally run over the cliff...

Looks like the current libby meme is that all of America is upset with Obama & Crew not because he’s driving America into the ground and going against EVERYTHING the Founding Fathers fought for, but because he’s not driving it into the ground farther and faster!!

Y'know, for the first time, I find myself wishing them well.

With a "git 'er done" attitude like this, they've earned a role as back seat drivers -- urging Barry, Nancy and Harry on as they drive the Democrat truck straight off the cliff.

Don't worry. It's an electric truck. No environmental damage will occur when the truck goes "splat" at the bottom of the canyon.

Last July, MoveOn.org sent out a fundraising email to its supposedly 8 million members wanting donations so they could run ads attacking Sarah Palin over her op/ed on cap and trade. After a couple of weeks of taking in donations, they ran an ad that looked like a total amature put it together in 5 minutes. It ran a few days in the early morning hours on MSNBC. All in all it was an epic fail on their part. They’re claim that they have 8 million members is a huge exaggeration, most of their money comes right from George Soros.

Well, well ... good to see someone's watching out for those
“45,000 Americans who die every day without health insurance!”

Obozo, Pe-loser and HairyReed aren't in such a desperate hurry anymore to help those 45,000 any more. Tsk, tsk.

Anyone looking to buy a bus? They ain't gonna need it anymore ...

NO?! How about a website (LOL, at this time, http://healthcare.barackobama.com/) is unchanged:
