A well-informed source tells The Mouth Nancy Pelosi is set to announce the House will go the reconciliation route on health care reform.
Of course, that means using a budgetary procedure that requires a simple majority to pass.
Its still unclear to us precisely what that means would be passed, but possibilities would be creating a national health care exchange and expanding Medicare or Medicaid coverage.
Democrats are caucusing now, so stay tuned.
Update: A second source confirms that Pelosi is presenting a reconciliation plan to the caucus, and making sure they go with something that can actually pass.
Separately, she is meeting with Harry Reid today.

Reconciliation is a spending bill. If a repeal is vetoed in a spending bill then the spending that is included in that bill also goes down the tubes.
And, if Reid attempts reconciliation, he'll not be able to muster 50 votes.
Given the power socialized medicine gives the Dims, I think that wouldn’t bother him a bit...
What good drugs are you on ... and can I have some
The House only needs to pass the Senate version of the bill (UNALTERED) with 218 votes. Simple majority wins in the House.
BUT, if the House changes EVEN ONE PUNCTUATION MARK in the bill that was passed by the Senate, it WILL REQUIRE a re-vote by the Senate.
And that would take 60 votes to invoke cloture - then 51 votes to pass the bill ...
Ain't gonna happen ...
Well expressed.
> Huh? Isnt that at odds with her health care is dead... remarks?
The Bill is dead. Long live the Bill.
The Bill is dead. Long live the Bill.
