We need to impose Term Limits — it’s the ONLY way to prevent these career politicians from riding roughshod over the people AND the Constitution. We need to make it so there is NO personal gain to be made by serving the people as their representative (not that they can’t be paid, just that they can’t be there too long or their pockets will eventually become LINED with graft - no matter how “good” they are when they go to DC to begin with). When they start caring more about whether they are re-elected than what is right, and Constitutional they need to be thrown out on their butts. Term Limits would lessen the temptations to reward special interests, etc... (IMHO).

Absolutely spot-on. Years ago, I was quite against the idea of term limits; it struck me that this may serve to thwart the wishes of the electorate (IOW, if they want ‘em, let them elect ‘em).
I have totally come around to being a major supporter of term limits. Your summation is accurate; it is the ONLY way to help ensure we get back to the original concept of “citizen legislator”. Career politicians are a disease; term limits...the only real cure.
