That has been going on all along. The Salvadorans (100,000) from their hurricane in ‘98 are all STILL here. There are others as well...like all the muslim Somalians that Bush brought in. There are recent posts outlining this...and they are never temporary. I can see this administration pulling an amnesty (they won’t call it that) because of all the turmoil in Mexico. It’s game over then.
We must do everything possibly to fight amnesty and push for deportation. We won before with emails and phone calls. BTW, all four major networks tomorrow starting at 8 will broadcast Haiti aid.
It’s a good thing to offer refuge in such cases, but like anything else it can be overdone, and used to create more havoc and harm than it solves. I do not think it has been overdone in any case, but I do think people supporting such refugee immigrations haven’t owned up to the burden we all bear from it. For example in 1980 Governor Bill Clinton ordered the Arkansas National Guard out to bottle up tens of thousands of Cuban refugees in the Federal Fort Chaffee, because they had caused many problems in the community.
