Sounds like something Marco Rubio should get on top of.
say what??
No more Publix for you!!
When Obama promises to pay his supporter’s rent and buy their gasoline, why should any of them want to work as a butcher, baker, or candlestick maker at a Publix grocery store?
The Democrats create an “entitlement society” and refusal to work is a natural consequence of such a policy.
This is outrageous
I wish there was more information in the link. we need to fight this
As far as “work American’s won’t do”...here’s an article about a Publix bag boy who just happens to be an unemployed MBA. He’s working to show his kids that All work is honorable.

It is possible that they cannot get Americans for these jobs. If you have teens either living off mom and dad or welfare, laid off union workers who wouldn’t touch these jobs, people depending on welfare or living on their savings and UI insurance until they get a job in their field, and many, many older professionals who would not take these jobs for many reasons, I can see why they would go unfilled.
I’m not trying to defend this store. I just can see how they might not have enough applicants to fill these positions. If I am wrong, then I will gladly join you in the pitchfork aisle. ;-)
Plenty of Haitians on the way.

Don’t shop there.
I go out of my way to shop at Publix. Best produce.Best meat.Best service.Cleanest stores. And best pay and benefits for the employees in a “non-union” chain.
Yes, their prices are nominally higher, but then again,I can generally count on their meat and produce, along with all the rest of their stock, being fresh, and can trust the expiration dates on the boxes and bags.
I also live in Publix HQ general area, and quite frankly, there is no dearth of applicants for any entry level positions at this company.
That they might also have a foreign exchange worker policy/positions does not in any way disturb me.
I would hope the high level quality of grocery store standards one expects and assumes as standard from Publix, will eventually be considered the norm, worldwide.
No, I do not work for the company, nor am I a competitor or supplier.
Just a happy customer, who personally knows many low level employees.
